About ECE
From The Executive Director:
As 2012 draws to a close, Emory Continuing Education (ECE) continues to respond to economic
and technological trends as well as the needs of our students with our new winter/spring 2013
course catalog. ECE now offers certificate programs in Project Management and Internet
Marketing, with Environmental Health slated for launch in spring 2013. We invite you to attend
any of our information sessions (please see page 5 for the complete listing) to hear directly from
the instructors and program advisers as you learn more about how these and ECE’s other courses
can assist with your career growth opportunities.
Additionally, ECE expects to launch more online courses in 2013 on the heels of our Lean Six
Sigma program—which successfully launched in September as Emory University’s first fully online
class. For those of you who prefer the traditional classroom setting, we will continue to offer those
courses as well as a number of hybrid options combining online and classroom education.
Lastly, while our Briarcliff campus has served as home for many years, ECE is currently
exploring options for new space to improve both the learning environment and accessibility for
our students. We expect to have more details shortly.
As always, we invite your suggestions and feedback—please contact us at 404.727.6000 or
learn@emory.edu with any questions or comments.
We look forward to seeing you in class!
Beverly Cormican
Associate Vice Provost for Continuing Education
Executive Director, Emory Continuing Education
Emory Continuing Education (ECE) is Emory
University’s noncredit continuing education division.
We extend Emory’s ideal of the learning community
beyond the core partnership of faculty and degreeseeking
students by providing learning experiences to
our neighbors.
As guests on the campus, our students gain a personal
experience of Emory University.
We believe the love of learning should be a lifelong
passion. Emory’s continuing education courses serve
self-motivated students, offering them the opportunity
to learn and to empower and enrich their lives.
