CONTENT ENHANCEMENT <strong>Infostream</strong> January/February 2007 Austria – New Austrian CECE Indices The CECE sector indices are market capitalisation weighted indices consisting of blue-chip stocks which are traded on stock exchanges in the region of Central, Eastern and South-eastern Europe. Currently the CECE Sector Indices include stocks listed in Bucharest, Budapest, Ljubljana, Prague, Sofia, Warsaw and Zagreb. The indices are calculated in euros and disseminated in real-time by Wiener Börse AG; they are designed as tradable indices and used for structured products. The indices are updated daily at 8pm GMT. MNEMONIC ASTCEBK ASTCEOG ASTCEHC ASTCETL Mexico – New Equity Indices The Technical Committee on Methodologies at the Mexican Stock Exchange worked on a series of analyses and exercises to complement the BMV family of indices, by developing new indices that represent various segments, sectors and economic activities. The new BMV indices were designed with the following needs in mind: • To have a composite index that would come close to representing the entire market. • To bring together a broad and representative selection of companies and industry groups. • To supply greater visibility to a greater number of stocks. • To provide a broader menu of portfolios that encourages the innovation and creation of referenced instruments. • To offer baskets that allow the segments of the Mexican market to be analysed from various perspectives, as other exchanges do. The new indices are published together with their respective complementary indices, which reflect adjustments for all corporate actions, including cash dividends. These indices are provided as IRT Indices (Total Yield Indices, by their initials in Spanish). Prefix the index mnemonic with L. Month-end lists are available from the end of November 2006 – prefix the list with the month and year – LMXIRTCM1106 returns the November 2006 list. INDEX NAME MEXICO IPC/ COMP 60 INDEX *The IRT indices include adjustments for all corporate actions including cash dividends. Asia Pacific News DESCRIPTION THE MEXICO IPC COMPOSITE IS MADE UP OF THE 60 LARGEST ISSUERS IN MXIPCCM TERMS OF THE MARKET VALUE OF THE SERIES LISTED ON THE EXCHANGE. THE RELATIVE WEIGHT OF EACH STOCK SERIES IN THE INDEX IS DETERMINED ACCORDING TO THE MARKET VALUE OF THE STOCK IN QUESTION. DUPLICATION IS ELIMINATED FOR HOLDING COMPANIES AND THEIR SUBSIDIARIES. THE SAMPLE WILL BE REVIEWED ON A BI-YEARLY BASIS, WHICH ALLOWS CHANGES IN TRADING ACTIVITY TO BE RECOGNISED MORE FREQUENTLY. Hong Kong – Hang Seng China H-Financial Equity Index The Hang Seng China H-Financials Index was launched to track the performance of the Chinese financial stocks listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The index comprises financials stocks from the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index and reflects the performance of largecap China financial stocks. The index is weighted by free-float market cap with a 15% cap on individual stock weights. The index is updated daily at 10am GMT.
