Mr Mohammad Faiz Azmi<br />

Mr Mohammad Faiz Azmi is the Executive Chairman of PwC Malaysia and the Financial<br />
Services Leader for PwC SEAPEN Region (a SE Asia grouping of firms from Vietnam,<br />
Cambodia, Laos, Thailand to Malaysia). He was also the Global leader of PwC‟s Global Islamic<br />
Finance Team practice from 2007 to September 2012.<br />
Mr Faiz has over 26 years experience in the audit and business advisory services of financial<br />
institutions both in UK and Malaysia. He has also been involved in the audits of clients in the<br />
banking, healthcare, power and construction sectors.<br />
A subject matter expert on banking and Islamic finance topics, Faiz is often invited to speak at<br />
seminars and forums, both locally and abroad.<br />
Mr Faiz serves on the boards of several professional bodies. Among others, he is the Chairman<br />
of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board, a Fellow of the <strong>In</strong>stitute of Chartered Accountants<br />
in England and Wales and Council Member of the Malaysian <strong>In</strong>stitute of Certified Public<br />
Accountants. <strong>In</strong> addition to being appointed by the Minister of Higher Education to the Hala Tuju<br />
3 Committee, Faiz also chairs the SSM XBRL forum.<br />
Faiz was educated in Malaysia and UK and read law at the University of Durham before being<br />
called to the English Bar.<br />
