THE BAND: A visceral entry into a<br />
world of Goblins, Freaks, Pirates, and<br />
the Others from all possible worlds,<br />
all swimming in punch, all breaking<br />
open the head, all dancing through<br />
as many possible realms of existence<br />
as are possible, ad infinitum. Think<br />
of the darkest shadow under the bed,<br />
the dustiest memory on the shelf, the<br />
most brilliant color you ever felt. That<br />
is where our songs come from.<br />
THAT Damned Band is an<br />
accordion driven group of multitalented<br />
songsters who create original<br />
and inventive songs and arrangements.<br />
THAT Damned Band features a<br />
unique arrangement that includes <strong>Accordion</strong>,<br />
Clarinet, Jug, flute, saw, Resonator<br />
Guitar, Washtub bass, Tuba, Drums, and<br />
washboard, although THAT Damned<br />
Band will be appearing as a trio at <strong>Cotati</strong><br />
<strong>Accordion</strong> <strong>Festival</strong> <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
THE ACCORDIONISTA: Dylan<br />
M. Blackthorn, accordionista, singer,<br />
songwriter, and band leader for THAT<br />
Damned Band, is a self-taught accordion<br />
player who writes original songs & original<br />
instrumental compositions on the<br />
accordion. He has been playing piano<br />
accordion since 1998 in a variety of ensembles,<br />
and currently plays with THAT<br />
Damned Band & Mazel Tov Kocktail<br />
hour. He was a founding member of the<br />
Dreaded <strong>Accordion</strong> Plague, Thee Hobo<br />
Gobbelins, Minor Mishap Marching<br />
Band, as well as the vaudevillian circus<br />
troupe the 999 EYES Freakshow &<br />
Surreal Sideshow. He has also been<br />

a member of punk rock performance<br />
art group the Bob Wierdos and Sour<br />
Mash Hug Band. Dylan Blackthorn<br />
has been studying Traditional Yiddish<br />
music since 2005, and was awarded a<br />
full scholarship, through the Mayrent<br />
Institute for the Preservation of Yiddish<br />
Culture, for attending KlezKamp New<br />
York in 2011.<br />
THE PIPER: Samantha X plays<br />
flute, pennywhistle, and xylophone<br />
with THAT Damned Band and Mazel<br />
Tov Kocktail Hour, and is a founding<br />
member of both groups, as well as<br />
the 999 EYES Freakshow & Surreal<br />
Sideshow. She is an avid student of the<br />
Yiddish styles of traditional music, who<br />
plays hauntingly upon her flute melodies<br />
ancient and timeless.<br />
THE FIDL KILLER: Sick, the Fidl<br />
Killer, is a multi-talented singer & songwriter<br />
who is a master of Fiddle, Mandolin,<br />
Guitar, Toy Piano, and even Violin.
