resulting in chronic rumenitis (Lechner-Doll et al., 2000). Pellets should be fed to lactating<br />
females with young offspring, but the amount should be reduced if scouring is observed in the<br />
calves (E. Flach, pers comm.). Some concentrated feeds are reported to contain too little<br />
copper leading to symptoms synonymous with copper deficiency (Allen & Oftedal, 1996).<br />
