Saturday, April 14, 2012, Barriere
held its 23rd Annual Safety and Health
Picnic Pavilion once again provided a
perfect venue for the festivities. Over
1,000 people (employees and their
families) were in attendance. For this
year’s theme, we decided to use our
new tag line, “Building Better”, which
was rolled out on January 1, 2012, in
conjunction with our new logo.
the day was recognizing
the retirement of Donnie
of service to Barriere,
Donnie Todd decided it
was time to hang up his
hard hat! A large group
of Donnie’s family and
friends were present
to celebrate this
momentous occasion.
by Millie Munsch, Administrative Assistant
Bert Wilson gave a heartfelt, emotional
tribute to Donnie and spoke about
Donnie’s many contributions to Barriere
over the past half century.
The recipient of the 2011/2012 Betty
School, in Mandeville, where he earned
a 3.86 GPA and was ranked 4th in his
class of 161 students. Shane served
as his school’s Quiz Bowl President and
4 years. During that time, Shane must
remain a full-time student and maintain
