*mystics: The mystics of Miroku confraternity are called sendatsu 先達. Sen 先 means<br />
“ahead“ or “earlier”, datsu 達 means “attained”. Therefore sendatsu means <strong>the</strong> one who<br />
attained earlier. The great mystics are called dai-sendatsu 大先達. Dai 大 means “great”.<br />
