27 We use the path system in Peachree City to run and bike. Feb 22, 2011 9:34 AM
28 Play baseball at parks all over the Southside of Atlanta. Our baseball park is
almost embarrassing compared to the other parks in the area. If you would like
to see how a real baseball park should look you need to travel to Griffin, Ga. and
check their park put. I know Senoia is a small town but we need to put tax
money into the baseball park to make kids want to come out and play instead of
sitting in front of a television playing video games.

9 The city should entertain purchasing the property west of town on Hwy 16 just
past the car wash that's nestled between the RR right of way and Hwy 16 and
utilize it for a multi use facility including sporting clays and a Skeet range...this
could be a huge boost to the local economy and attract more people from all
around...not to mention it could be a world-class facility and great revenue
source for the city. I beleive the city could realize a nice return on the
investment.
10 Tell people about the parks and programs available. I have lived here for nearly
3 years and didn't know about the parks except the one with the lake and the
building that you have to pay to use.

2 At this point, we do not have a compressive plan - in my opinion - to accomplish
meaningful short & long term improvement. With funding being an issue, we
must find ways to; 1) have self funded programs, 2) obtaining grants, and 3)
work with other government enities to share resources (ie schools or county or
state).

community. By enriching our community in this manner, we will serve our
community in several ways. Citizens of all ages will have the opportunity to enjoy
an array of activities. Indirectly, Senoia will become a more desired area to move

6 I lived in Senoia for 18 months. The town is wonderful and the atmosphere
couldn't be better.
Better publicity of programs and events would be nice - especially to surrounding
counties to draw more visitors.
7 It has been a great pleasure living here in Senoia the past 2 years. However, I
am not aware of the P&R programs availability, partly because of my own lack of
effort, but I believe that more promotions is needed. I also see a need for indoor
multi-use space.
8 We need a community pool. We also need to make our parks as attractive as
possible. Curb appeal is important. New residents expect the best from their
government.
9 When an event is held at the Marimac Lakes site, parking can be a challenge.
Not sure where the "local multi-use trail system" is (re: item # 3 above) unless it's
the path that goes to the subdivisions on Rockaway Road.
10 Keeping the youth busy with recreational activities helps keep them from finding
other negative ways to keep themselves entertained. More programs are
needed and more facilities are needed. What about hiring a Parks / Recreation
Director? Someone who can devote their time to this specific need?
11 Senoia is doing a great job! I currently coach multiple sports and would love
more opportunities in Senoia.

16 What does Senoia have? Until I saw this on facebook I didnt know that we even
have parks and recreation! Where are the parks and whats available???
17 I am not sure if Senoia has this, but as a mother of a 2 year old would like to see
some kind of a daycare/activities for small ones ran by the city that could be
offered during the week all year long.
For a couple of hours a day.
18 From my understanding the city owns the park but the county leases it. Go to
other fields in coweta they clean good fields. Why cant our baseball park be just
as nice. Is this a county city conflict on who is going to do what I dont
understand.

20 The city needs to take the ball fields back from the county, you do a good jod
with the lakes, do it with the ballfields.
21 Our Senoia Ball Fields lack in comparison to other fields that we play on. If we
had a complex comparable to PTC we could offer soccer and football rather than
to drive our children. The new board of LL is trying hard to make those fields
nice...but we need YOUR help. We need play grounds AT THE FIELDS...we
need concrete...we can't "bring them" without the facility they need. We need
FIELDS.....10 T Ball Teams this spring guys.....10 !!! Of under 200
registered....over half are T Ball...LET'S DO THIS RIGHT...and keep these
players in Senoia. Senoia shines right now...let's make the kids areas shine as
well.
22 I think there should be a beautification program developed to work on the
appearance of the park on Seavy Street. It doesn't look inviting. And maybe
additional tables added to Merrimack Park to encourage people to come out and
picnic.
I think it would be great if Senoia hosted a Pickin' in the Park, like Newnan does
on the Square. Fiddle, Guitar, banjo, etc. players meet once or twice a month -
on a Sunday afternoon - to informally play music. I think it would be nice for
people to participate, or just come out for a picnic to hear the musicians. It
wouldn't cost anything, and it would be a nice benefit.
I currently live in Peachtree City, but once my home sells, we are planning on
moving to Senoia. Love your town!!

26 Senoia needs to have more Recreation in and around the town. The city needs
to worry about the kids because they are the future and will be the dominating
factor in how successful the City of Senoia is in the coming years. The baseball
complex needs to be up to at least par with our neighboring cities so we can host
tournaments and actually bring some extra revenue to the businesses of Senoia.
If you ask other cities recreation departments how they are so nice....the answer
everytime is this is what the community wanted and tax money went into the
park to get it. Again......the recreation department is so far behind the times and
the baseball/softball park is so dated it is embarrasing for the kids, coaches, and
parents when we host other teams from other cities during regular season play, it
is like playing in a glorified cow pasture. Almost every year my son makes it to
the playoffs or allstars and we usually play in Griffin because their facility is nice
enough to host the games. The baseball park is packed for several days and
brings some nice business to the economy. I love Senoia's small town
feel......we just need to put some tax money into our parks and recreation that
out kids deserve. Thanks for doing this survey and I hope it is used for its

and tennis courts and they could use a refresher. Would love to have the pool
back at this park or over by the lakes.

playgrounds were updated. It would also be good if there were a bike/skate park
for the kids. I know my son would like to ride his bike in the park. Thanks for

Please give us a real restroom at the playground. I would love to see the
playground fenced in like the one in PTC. Even just the wood railings all in front
of the cars would be better and parking there on a busy day is limited. Some of
the older playground equipment should probably go at this point.
I would like to see the police drive thru the parks more. They are all over
Rockaway Rd, but never cruise thru the playground area.
I really like the lake park but there is not much to do over there. Maybe a
playground there as well?
The library has great programs in the summer at the park, would like to see more

32 I would love to see our tennis courts upgraded and improved. It would be great if
we could add another court and offer tennis lessons, camps, etc. I realize we, as
a small community, cannot and should not compete with Peachtree City, but
more variety in what is offered would be great. I would love to see more arts and
crafts programs, and especially more week long, half day camps for kids in the
summer. A swimming facility would be fabulous, but that is probably too farfetched
at this point for our wonderful little town.
33 The current tennis courts are terrible. They need to be totally redone or new
ones built.
34 Tennis Courts are an eye sore. An additional two or so courts would really make
it really nice and allow for teams to play there. Myself and others I have talked to
have expressed willingness to do free clinics for kids.
The fishing time window is a little small should start a little sooner and end a little
later...
otherwise the city has done such a great job with improving rec opportunities. I
am very proud.

36 The trails also need some work - or maybe a dedicated area of the website to
map them out. The only real path I've found is between the Plyant Rd. park and
the baseball fields, which then leaves walking through an industrial area with no
sidewalks and large trucks as the only option.
A walking/jogging track or a trail to run on would be amazing for my family.

37 We love how Senoia has started to transform, cleaning up and beautifying Main
Street while keeping the small old town charm. We are a family that enjoys
quietness and viewing the natural surroundings of trees & flowers while taking a
walk, run or hike possibly near a water area. Being able to sit on a bench and
rest while watching the other people pass by. We love Lake Peachtree and
going to Callaway Gardens using their trails.
38 Put a permanent visitor's bathroom downtown...not just inside the
visitor/welcome center.
39 I wish they rented the Freeman Sasser building by the hour. It's a nice park for
birthday parties and that building would be great to have the building for cake,
games, seating for adults, etc. I've spoke to a few friends who agree it would be
nice to have a party there if the building was available but $200 is to much.
40 I would invite friends to play at Seavy if the courts were in better shape. I think
Senoia has come a long way in a short period of time. The park and lake area
are very nice. Proud to be a Senoia Resident
41 The senoia park on seavy street is nice to take the kids to, but too far to walk or

42 I think multi-use trails offer the best bang for the buck. They can be used by
everyone young/old, golf carts, bikes, walking etc... connect the community
together and increase atractiveness and home values. Programs only help a
certain small group and cost money and time to run. Looking forward to the new
library, I think it would be nice to get updates on that regularly.
43 We need a water park or pool! There is nowhere nearby to go on hot summer
days!
44 My children always get sick/flu/sinus infections when they play on the playground
off Seavy St. Therefore, there are no other close playground for them, we travel
to Newnan. Maybe add some at the ball fields. Also, we have participated in the
baseball program and they were so rude, unapproacable, and unorganized that
we moved to the Sharpsburg ballfields. I think your fields are great though! We
also travel about 25 miles for Gymnastics and Dance, would love to keep that $$
in Senoia.

recreation for our active lifestyle.
47 My family uses the Seavy Street park on a regular basis. My three-year-old
daughter loves to play there, and I am pleased with the equipment. (I do get
nervous when she wants to climb the dinosaur, though!) She also enjoys
feeding the ducks at Merrimac Lake. I am not aware of any programs offered by
the department, though, and I would be interested to know what else is available.
48 Wish there were more nice picnic tables/areas at both parks. We love the
walking trails at Marimac Lakes. Would like to see a small playground there
also.
49 My suggestions aren't that great as of now as my wife and I do not really use the
parks. However, our first child is on the way so we will be taking advantage of all
Senoia has to offer in the near future.
I would like to see the golf cart path development continue.
50 I have used the Seavy Street park before with my friends child and wasn't
impressed for the equipment there and the cleanliness. This is why I now take
her to the Peachtree City park where there is more of a variety in equipment use.
51 There isn't enough facilities in Senoia. There is so much potential and appears to
be open land for potential parks, recreation, shopping and other activities.
Downtown area has been remodeled beautifully, but not enough to do in Senoia.
Which means our residents are going to surrounding towns for entertainment,

54 A walking trail is needed.
An indoor facility for basketball, wrestling, dancing, etc. would be great.
55 Senoia has grown quickly and the newly annexed side of Rockaway road does
not have adequate facilities considering population.
56 Not only is a permanent bathroom needed at Seavy Park, but a water fountain is
needed.
57 Play ground needs a fence to keep the kids in better able supervision. Play
ground needs a bathroom. Would be nice to have community center with

62 I would like to see a focus on improving what we already have in place. I would
like to see an emphasis place on maintaining the facilities that are already in
place. For instance, we have an awesome playground in the Seavy Street Park.
However, the lining under the mulch has been coming up for over a year and
looks trashy. More rubber mulch needs to be added or removed and replace with
regular mulch. In addition, the playground equipment has graffiti on it for well
over a year. That needs to be removed. Furthermore, for the Seavy Street park,
better restroom facilities would be beneficial. I understand that securing them
and maintaining them is difficult but a portable toilet is unattractive and gross.
The concrete building needs to go. As I understand it, the Boy Scouts had
secured space in a church facility. This building is another unattractive part of the
park. Finally, the Seavy Street park needs more parking and the tennis courts
need to be removed or renovated.
Once all of this is complete I would then like to see the city move to improve
other parks one park at a time.

65 Baseball/softball fields, bathrooms and concession stands all need major
improvement.
66 There is nothing available in senoia, we have to drive 30 to 40 minutes if I want
my kids to be in any sports. No community pool, no summer program.
Everything is in newnan or peachtree city.
67 The playground is great, but the graffitti needs cleaning-up. More lighting and
police patrol might hinder further vandalism.
68 The city created a drainage issue when the built the road adjacent to Adcock
Field at the ball park.
It was improperly built with no consideration as to how it would effect the field
and driveway entering the field,
69 Serious thought need to go into a City Recreation Director. The Little
League/Softball does not have consistent leadership. The baseball board needs
to report to a City Director. A completely new complex has been well deserved
for many years and we have been promised new fields for years.The new
complex should include soccer and laCrosse as well.

70 My family has lived in Senoia for seven years and we love it here! My daughter
loves the park on Seavy Street. We have seen some improvements on the park
since moving here but I would like to see some newer equipment and for the
park to be more well kept. People are pretty good about throwing away their
trash but there is really only one picnic table near the play equipment the rest are
shoved in the back behind the Freeman Sasser building. I would also like to see
a proper bathroom at the park if possible. There have been a number of times I
have seen kids going to the bathroom in the bushes around the park and behind
the Freeman Sasser building.
Some new programs here in Senoia would be great as well. My daughter plays
soccer but she plays it up in Fayetteville. I would have signed her up in a Senoia
league if we had one.
71 I would like to see the cart path system expand so people on Rock House road
had access. I could see the need to buy some additional land on RT 16 west of
town as new expansions happen there. I think the areas need a little clean up
and maybe some newer play equipment, would like to see some public
basketball courts and maybe some 3 on 3 team programs for the kids (by age
group).
We have lived here just under a year, but plan on staying, we love it here and
have no plans on moving and can't wait to see Senoia grow and get better!!!
72 I love Senoia. I would like to be able to access it better via bike or golf cart. This
would be a joy to the residents and bring business to downtown. I think the
parks need some help too. I love to take my children there regularlly but there
never is a place to sit or picnic. I feel it would be money well spend to delelop
more recreational facilities for baseball and soccer. I wouldn't drive to PTC for
soccer if there was more available here. I love Senoia and try to always choose
my activities within the town first.

76 The ballfields could use some major updating. Parking is an issue when there
are several games and if there is an event at the sr bld there is not enough
parking for sure.
77 Would like to have access to a restroom and not a port a potty at the Seavy
street park. Also for safety reasons there needs to be a better fence separating
the parking lot from the play equipment. They are literally a few feet from each
other. My family would also like to have some sort aquatic center or pool. My
family loves Senoia and all that it has to offer!
78 I am sad to say that after living here all these years, I never knew Senoia had a
Senior Center. I have no idea where I can find out about programs currently
offered.

82 A gymnasium would go a long way to up the amount of indoor activities. Nearby
gyms such as Peachtree City are very expensive for non Fayette county
residents.
83 My family really enjoys the Senoia ammenities, but have to admit the leadership
for the baseball/softball complex is terrible. It seems very unorganized. In the
last 3 years I've watched many of the local Senoia families take their kids to
Brooks, PTC, and Sharpsburg for their recreational sports programs. I would like
to see that trend reverse.

86 A Dog Park would be a welcomed and easy addition to the park at Seavy Street,
or other location. It need not be large, and could be modeled after other small,
fenced dog parks such as downtown Houston or Midtown Atlanta, where a small
parcel is enclosed with a wrought-iron, or similar decorative fence, and a sallyport
gate. The Seavy Park already has a superb spot--the old swimming pool
that was filled in and is currently grass covered. All that is needed is a fence
with a sally-port gate, following the perimeter of the pool's original sides. Too
often, dog parks are made overly large, in the mistaken belief that "dogs need
room to run." Actually, smaller dimensions, such as is common in urban
locations, are preferable to dog socialization, and are big enough for dogs and
dog owners to socialize.
This single, no-brainer addition to Senoia's parks is relatively low-cost, requiring
a fence perimeter only the size of the old pool. It will bump Senoia up a few
notches on the "take us seriously" scale. Let's do it!
