FLEISCHHOF RASTING GMBH
COMPANY PROFILE
In the middle of the 1950s, Metzgerei Rasting and EDEKA started their cooperation.
Rasting was one of the first suppliers for the new meat counters in EDEKA shops. As
sales were increasing rapidly, the company Rasting GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1964. At this point,
all shares of the Rasting family went to EDEKA. In 1968 the company moved to new production facilities
at a slaughterhouse in the city of Bonn as the butchery in Bad Godesberg could not be extended
any further. But soon, this new location became too small again. In 1984 the new plant built at today‘s
site in Meckenheim was opened. Another important step in the company‘s history was the take-over of
EDEKA Essen‘s „Fleischhof“ in 1999.
