DESCRIPTION
Pascol Semi-transparent Concrete Stain is a water based, durable acrylic finish designed to transform ordinary concrete into
an inviting space with a multi-coloured appearance that looks like natural stone. Semi-transparent Concrete Stain highlights the
natural variations and textures of concrete, brick and concrete pavers. The durable, transparent, low gloss finish provides longlasting
decorative colour, while protecting interior and exterior surfaces from water damage, household chemicals and wear
from foot traffic.
PRINCIPAL CHARACTERISTICS
Semi-transparent finish for use on: aggregate, concrete, brick, concrete pavers, flagstone, pool decks, driveways, paths and
patios.
Suitable for interior and exterior use.
This product is not recommended for use on garage floors.
BASIC DATA
Touch Dry 2 hours
Recoat 4 hours
Fully Cured 72 hours
Wait 24 hours for light (foot) traffic and 72 hours for heavy (vehicle) traffic.
All figures are quoted at 25 o C and 50% relative humidity. Drying will take longer at lower
temperatures or higher relative humidity.
Coverage per coat up to 9 M 2 /L (depending on the surface porosity and method of application)
Thinning No thinning required
Clean up Thoroughly clean equipment with water away from drains.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Do not apply over surfaces treated with water repellent sealers.
Ensure surface is clean and dry, and free from dust, dirt, oil and grease. Oil and grease should be removed with
Pascol Oil Stain Remover. All loose, peeling or flaking material must be removed. Wash all surfaces, rinse well with
clean water and allow to thoroughly dry at least overnight before painting.
Ensure all new cement and concrete surfaces are fully cured prior to painting. Typically this may take a minimum of 4
to 6 weeks. Ensure concrete surfaces are free from any bond breakers, formwork release agents and curing
compounds.
Clean, degrease and etch new or bare concrete with Pascol BOND•LOK . Refer to the BOND•LOK label for
instructions.
For previously painted or stained concrete, remove all old coating and then follow instructions for bare concrete.
APPLICATION
Stir well before and during use with a broad paddle. The product is supplied ready for use, so no thinning is required.
Do not apply when the temperature is below 10 °C or above 35 °C or when the humidity is very high. Avoid painting when
dew or rain is likely. Avoid application in direct sunlight or onto hot concrete surfaces.
Dampen concrete thoroughly with water; remove any standing water or puddles.
Use a pump sprayer set to fine-spray pattern. Apply stain to small sections (approx. 1m x 1m) at a time, spraying in a
random, circular motion. Work quickly to maintain a wet edge. Do not allow stain to “puddle” on surface
For a more uniform appearance, immediately back-roll wet areas with 10mm nap roller. Allow to dry for 4 hours before
deciding if another coat is needed. A second coat will give a darker, more uniform colour.
Optional top coat: For added protection, apply Pascol Wet Look Sealer. On driveways apply Pascol Multi-Purpose
Sealer. Refer to labels and data sheets for instructions
