Arquitectonica host “Art & Architecture” exhibit at
award winning office building, Landmark East
Windsor Properties’ Landmark East Grade-A high-rise office development rose again in prominence
and took centre stage last Wednesday evening when international design architect Arquitectonica
hosted their annual summer cocktail reception.
Arquitectonica transformed the lobby of one of its prized design office buildings into a corporate venue
for their annual summer cocktail function, which included hosting a discussion about the importance of
blending Art & Architecture presented by Hong Kong based Art Curator, Alison Pickett who represents
the artist Polo’, the creative force behind the 25ft. sculpture “Man Walking East” located at the foot of
tower-1.
“I was delighted that Arquitectonica selected our building lobby as the venue for their high-profile
annual function. To have them transform a space - which they designed - into a retrospective of their
own work seemed like a sophisticated way to share with guests a portfolio of work and discuss the
relationship between Art and Architecture. The event was very well organized and truly enjoyable”…
said Mr. Alfred Yu, Director and Head of Planning & Design of Wing Tai Properties Development Ltd.
Opened last year, Landmark East boasts tenants like the consulting engineer Mott MacDonald, who
were also involved in the buildings engineering design, The LinkREIT and also AIA Insurance, who
will all be taking advantage of the building’s privileged views of Victoria Harbor and Hong Kong Island
beyond.
“Tenants indeed get great views over Hong Kong. In terms of design, the orthogonal tower forms have
been segmented in section creating a series of interlocking parallelogram slabs. This arrangement
emphasizes the sensation of movement and conveys lightness to the towers, forming a strong,
dramatic, unified identity for the development” said Matt McCallum of Arquitectonica, the projects
design manager.
A high profile attendance and a gathering of over 50 people filled the 11m high interior space which is
decorated with Italian white Statuario marble and Noir des Alpes grey marble. “Arquitectonica clearly
does amazing architectural design work, and this was wonderfully represented by the monumental
space in which they held the event” said Amanda Cheung of Edelman, and international PR firm.
