from the forest’s psychosexual horrors—
is that screaming
or are they just happy to see, says

and yet that’s not true, in a way
I don’t understand.
This I has little to do with making that other sort of truth—of mimesis-
“happen,” a pragmatist would say. But,
“shit happens.” Does truth?
Truth of smell, touch....
The I prefers words, images—with referenc
/ “To frame form,”
and with preferences—refers them
to the scene, reconnoitering
from an irrecuperable distance—just what
the world needs yesterday in
fact, put a glove on it, fact—
trembles, shimmers,
