GRAUPNER Flight School 

Whether you would like to get into the world of model helicopters or just fi nd out whether this fascinating 

hobby might be something for you, then visit the new GRAUPNER Flight School and learn all 

about it from experienced fl ight instructors and start this fascinating hobby with the best preparation 

possible. Through individual instruction or in groups of up to three pupils, in the GRAUPNER Flight 

School, you will learn all the fundamentals, from hovering, to fl ying, to simple aerobatics. 

On Saturdays, in addition to the normal training fl ights, you can also take part in an eight-hour training 

course, in which our fl ying instructors explain settings, programming, and test fl ights of model helicopters 

with rotor heads both with and without fl ybars. 

Or have the Construction and Repair Service build, program, and test fl y your model professionally, so

Victory in the fourth round of the German F3A-XB Championship in Nennslingen! At just 13 years old, 

Dennis Heskamp is one of the youngest of the GRAUPNER pilots. Competing for just his third time, 

Dennis took part in the German Championship in the F3A-XB Class on the fi rst weekend in September 

and won sensationally, well ahead of the second-place contestant! Full of pride, we congratulate 

Dennis on this sensational success. Keep it up!

TEAM GERMANY F5B is back!! 

For the third time, Wolf Fickenscher is the world champion in the F5B Class. 

The national team reached an outstanding second place to become vice-champion. 

Heli-Academy 2012 

In cooperation with the magazine RC-Heli-Action, the Heli-Academy 2012 was held at our plant site in 

November. 20 highly motivated participants listened to the words of our heli experts Thomas Heimes 

and Norbert Wybranietz, as well as RC-Heli-Action editors Raimund Zimmermann and Fred Annecke. 

In addition to the theoretical part, the technical details were also demonstrated practically on the 

model itself, and the programming of various types of controllers was also shown. And, in the internal 

courtyard of the company site, our heli experts Thomas Heimes and Norbert Wybranietz showed that 

they could also fl y. 

Model Air Show Dettingen on 09/09/2012 

On September 9th, on a glorious late summer’s day, over 70 pilots from all across Europe made their 

way to the MFG Dettingen site for the 16th time, for one of the best model air shows of the year. The 

seven-hour program started at 11:00 o’clock for approximately 5000 excited visitors. Naturally, at 

an event like this, the GRAUPNER plant pilots just had to be there. Six of them went to Dettingen and 

showed their skill and, of course, as brand ambassadors, also had time for a little chat.

50th Anniversary of the Teck Cup 

184 participants from 7 countries came together last weekend for the 50th anniversary of the world’s 

largest hillside fl ight competition at the Hörnle, to measure themselves in the classes Juniors, Seniors, 

and Advanced Seniors. Because of the thick fog, model fl ying was initially out of the question on Saturday 

morning. Since the Teck Cup is also an annual friendly reunion of all model fl ight comrades, the 

waiting time was used to talk shop and share experiences. Among the seniors, Peter Tack of Lauda 

barely beat out Steffen Wiesner of Owen and Hans Haller from Tyrol. Among the juniors, Marc Ott of 

Dettingen/Teck came in ahead of the 10-year-old and thus youngest participant Luis Tack of Lauda 

und Marco Zaugg of Riggisberg (Switzerland). Bruno Klingenschmied of Tyrol won the advanced senior 

class ahead of Paul Böhlen of Riggisberg (Switzerland) and Frieder Scholze from the Allgäu. 

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Teck Cup, Graupner joined the Model Sport Club Kirchheim 

to invite all the participants to a cosy get-together Saturday evening in the hanger at Hahnweide.

The beginner‘s model from the 1960s 

now as a ready-to-fl y model. The dimensions 

and paint scheme of the model 

were taken over from the original 

DANDY of 1968. Thanks to the low 

weight, it has very good thermic sensitivity. 

To change the receiver batteries, 

in the glider version, the cockpit canopy 

can be removed. The drive battery in 

the electric version can be changed by 

removing the wings. The two wing 

halves are fastened to the fuselage by 

means of rubber rings. With the propulsion 

variant shown, the electric version 

can make fl ights of 30 minutes, without 

thermics.

The V-VENTURE is a top-class

The V-VENTURE is a top-class

of the MX-10 transmitter. Both ailerons 

tilt upward; at the same time, via a 

mixer in the GR-12 HoTT receiver, the 

otherwise usual upward tilt of the model 

is compensated for automatically 

by exactly controlled elevator defl ection. 

For instance, during the landing, 

this means that the pilot can concentrate 

fully on direction control. Steer 

ability is retained fully during braking.

STARLET 1800 




The original STARLET was offered by 

the Stolp company in the USA as a 

construction kit in the experimental 

class for amateur aircraft builders. The 

one-seater aircraft with its parasol design 

was assembled using composite 

construction techniques. As propulsion 

unit, it was possible to install anything 

from a VW car engine to a 60-hp Continental. 

The docile fl ying characteristics 

make the STARLET 1800 ideal as a starting 

point in the area of aileron-controlled 

motorised models. Both internal 

combustion and electric motors can be 

used for propulsion. Simple aerobatics 

are possible with types of propulsion 

system. However, the docile fl ight behavior 

means that very slow overfl ights 

can also be done. To change the drive 

battery in the electric version, a large 

opening has been provided in the fuselage 

in the area of the cockpit. The two

The original Viper Jet MK II is a single-engine, 

two-seater, jet aircraft that 

is available in a kit. The aircraft is powered 

by a General Electric J85 Turbine. 

The maiden ight was in October 

1999 and was closed to the

in Oshkosh.

(DGzRS), named for Adolph Bermpohl,

the GRAUPNER HOTT 2.4-GHz technology, 

the receiver has a new hopping 

telemetry transmission high-frequency 

unit with state-of-the-art components 

and software. 

The use of up to 75 channels ensures 

extreme operating reliability and immunity 

to external interference. 

The receiver operates even at voltages 

of about 2.5 volts. Thus, even when the 

batteries are getting weak – e.g. at the 

end of fl ying time – it is resistant to voltage 

drops due to high servo currents. 

Compared to the previous receivers, 

the sizes and weights have been reduced; 

and the receiver input sensitivity 

and thus the range have been increased 

further.
