CHAPTER 1: SEVEN CHRONOLOGIES COMPARED
not counted! "He brought us out that He might bring us in." (Deut.6:23). The purpose of the
Exodus was fellowship in the Temple - from redemption to glory with no mention of sin in
between! This to Denny was the great truth of I Kings 6:1, and the key to the baffling Crux
Chronologorum.
Denny further proposed that I Kings 6:1 was the key to opening up the truth that two
chronological systems run parallel through Scripture. The first is the ACTUAL TIME recorded
in the Bible's many chronological references. Here, most but not all of the years of actual time
are recorded. For when the years are added several notable gaps are shown to exist. The second
is REDEMPTION TIME, which though coming to light in I Kings 6:1, is generally to be found
beneath the surface of Scripture. Its principles are based on the Jubilee Cycles of Leviticus 25
and our Lord's words concerning seventy times seven forgiveness in Matt.18:22.
I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven.
To find the true length of Old Testament time, and to fill in the several unstated periods of
actual time, 18 Denny taught that both systems must be used.
At the heart of Redemption Time is the Jubilee Cycle (7x7 Sabbatic years) recorded in Leviticus
25. Here there is a further truth, for though the year of Jubilee is regarded as the 50th year
(25:10), there are only 49 years from one Jubilee to the next. Lev.25:8-10 shows that rather
than the 50th year beginning at the end of the 49th, it begins midway through the 49th on the
Day of Atonement and extends midway into the first year of the next cycle, thus overlapping the
two years. Therefore, though man reckons it to be 49 years, God calls it the 50th year! And in so
doing, God declares that through redemption all has now been brought to divine completion.
This remarkable 50th year according to Denny does not add to time. It is only reckoned by God,
and does not figure into the actual count of years in the Bible's chronology. As it is integrated
into the 49th year of the old cycle and the 1st year of the new cycle, attempts to determine the
Jubilee year from Jewish sources (where the principle is apparently not recognized) would be
fruitless.
Denny further proposed that in Redemption Chronology ten Jubilee Cycles equalling 490
years 19 will span the major epochs of the Bible. The basic demonstration of this is to be seen in
the period from the Exodus to the dedication of the Temple. 20 A chart demonstrating this is
entitled Actual and Redemption Chronology Illustrated. 21
