UnaveraChemLab GmbH<br />
The management of the group of companies consisting<br />
of UnaveraChemLab GmbH <strong>and</strong> <strong>Aaron</strong> <strong>Chemistry</strong><br />
GmbH disposes of a long lasting tradition in science of<br />
chemistry.<br />
Already Dr. Bruno v. Zychlinski, father of the current CEO<br />
of UnaveraChemLab GmbH, worked during the nineteen-thirties<br />
in the fields of chemical research <strong>and</strong> developed<br />
on behalf of Wacker Chemie amongst others the<br />
patent-registered polyvinyl chloride (=PVC) in 1935.<br />
His company “Mittenwald Chemie”, founded in 1948,<br />
manufactured pastes <strong>for</strong> ball pens <strong>and</strong> dyestuff <strong>for</strong><br />
writing instruments <strong>and</strong> exp<strong>and</strong>ed dynamically to a<br />
worldwide leading company in that industry.<br />
In 1982, his son Dr. Hasso v. Zychlinski as a motivated<br />
chemist in synthesis took over the company Unavera-<br />
ChemLab GmbH, in brief Unavera GmbH, which is<br />
today also located in Mittenwald/Germany. Since that<br />
time, Unavera is active as an independent producer of<br />
organic fine chemicals.<br />
Beside the st<strong>and</strong>ard program, being a variety of product<br />
lines of chemical compounds, chemical synthesis as per<br />
customer’s specification under secrecy agreement is the<br />
most important line of business of the private company.<br />
Furthermore, Unavera GmbH is executing development<br />
orders <strong>for</strong> intermediates <strong>and</strong> drugs, which later on have<br />
to get converted into commercial scale. Another focus is<br />
the specialization in multistep reactions <strong>for</strong> complex<br />
molecules.<br />
Additionally, chiral syntheses are carried out by<br />
means of enzymatic reactions in close <strong>and</strong> strictly<br />
confidential cooperation with the specialist X-Zyme<br />
GmbH, Düsseldorf/Germany, (see page 264). Regular<br />
customers of Unavera GmbH are companies doing<br />
own research or being producers of pharmaceuticals<br />
<strong>and</strong> pesticides.<br />
The reactors of the company are designed <strong>and</strong> equipped<br />
<strong>for</strong> syntheses in volumes of kilograms up to multi tons<br />
as indicated in the product listing on page 12. In case<br />
of even larger quantities, such dem<strong>and</strong>s will be produced<br />
in close cooperation with partners having larger<br />
production capacity. Necessary <strong>and</strong> exclusively <strong>for</strong> specific<br />
customers developed procedures can be serially applied<br />
<strong>and</strong> are protected by contracts. This guarantees<br />
furthermore that the compounds will be reproduced in<br />
same purity <strong>and</strong> identity as be<strong>for</strong>e.<br />
For syntheses Unavera GmbH disposes of a cascade of<br />
enamel reactors being equipped as multi purpose plant<br />
as well as stainless steel <strong>and</strong> glass reactors <strong>for</strong> volumes<br />
of 20 up to 1000 liters. The temperature range covers<br />
+10 degree Celsius up to +180 degree Celsius,<br />
whereas the stainless steel reactors can be operated in a<br />
range of -40 degree Celsius up to +220 degree Celsius<br />
<strong>and</strong> with pressure down to 9 bar.<br />
Separation of solids is effected by vacuum nutsches, pressure<br />
filters or a hastelloy peeler centrifuge. Various dryer<br />
working under normal pressure or vacuum as well as<br />
refining <strong>and</strong> sieving machines are used <strong>for</strong> treatment of<br />
solids. All the plants <strong>and</strong> machines can optionally be<br />
rendered inert according to the specific requirement with<br />
nitrogen or argon. Electrical explosion prevention is<br />
applied. Environment protection<br />
has a very high priority:<br />

as well as consistent<br />
waste management<br />
with appropriate <strong>and</strong> controlled<br />
removal is taken care<br />
<strong>for</strong> a clean environment.<br />
Quality <strong>and</strong> customer satisfaction<br />
are the highest values<br />
of the management<br />
according to st<strong>and</strong>ard ISO<br />
9001:2000, controlled by<br />
official German inspection<br />
authority TÜV-Süd.<br />
Quality control is supervised<br />
by the independent analytical<br />
department, whereas<br />
the total workflow of receipt<br />
of goods, production <strong>and</strong> analysis is controlled by the<br />
head of analytical department.<br />
The laboratories are prepared <strong>for</strong> development <strong>and</strong> quality<br />
control in view to all the analytical procedures required<br />
like HPLC, GC, FTIR, HPLCMS <strong>and</strong> NMR. Melting<br />
point <strong>and</strong> moisture determination as well as potentiometric<br />
titration complete the range of control services.<br />
These are the fundamentals <strong>for</strong> the production of APIs<br />
according to cGMP guidelines.<br />
All the chemical compounds, assorted according to the<br />
product line index (see page 12), are listed in this<br />
catalogue on page 14 ff. <strong>and</strong> can be delivered within<br />
short notice subject to the requested quantity. Numerous<br />
further derivates <strong>and</strong> homologous compounds can be<br />
offered on specific inquiries.<br />
