AavSHIELD NC<br />
AavSHIELD NC is a non-chrome aluminum finish that<br />
exceeds current RoHS requirements. AavSHIELD NC<br />
provides corrosion protection and low electrical<br />
resistance while also improving adhesion properties.<br />
AavSHIELD NC is a clear finish suitable for moderate<br />
environments where the extreme protection of<br />
chromium based finishes is not necessary. The<br />
performance and features of AavSHIELD NC make<br />
it a good alternative to anodize where chromium<br />
free and electrical conductivity is critical.<br />

AavSHIELD NC SOLUTION:<br />
• Protective finish does not use chromium.<br />
• Exceeds the European Union Directive “Restriction<br />
on the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS)<br />
in Electrical and Electronic Equipment.”<br />
• Withstands 24 hours of corrosion resistance<br />
per Mil -C-5541 and MIL-DTL-81706 using<br />
ASTM B-117 neutral salt spray test.<br />
• Independent testing of electrical resistance<br />
per Mil-C-5541 was conducted before and after<br />
salt spray tests. The results showed an average<br />
electrical resistance of 1700 micro-ohms before<br />
salt spray and 5800 micro-ohms after.<br />
• Adhesion<br />
• Paint and epoxy adhesion properties are<br />
better than bare aluminum. (Product testing<br />
is recommended since performance of the<br />
coating can be design-dependent.)<br />
APPLICATIONS:<br />
Any aluminum heat sink or assembly that requires chromium free corrosion protection and low electrical resistance.<br />
