Mrs Sara Middleton TCAAP/ALL_275 Yes We use the little woodland on Whites Lane for walks and pretend games with my children.
Ms Penelope Goodare TCAAP/ALL_337 Yes I'm not aware of a park but I often use the public footpaths, some of which go through woodlands. I am
especially fond of the walk which begins opposite the Kent Cricketer, crossing 'Little Switzerland' to the Rye
Road, then continues north to Duvals Farm and beyond. (This area seems to have been singled out for
building the largest area of new houses.) Another favourite is the Sussex Border Path, from off Stream Lane
to Bodiam, which so far seems not to be threatened by the building plans.
Mrs Anne Loach TCAAP/ALL_377 What local park/woodland?
Tunbridge Wells District
Committee Campaign to
TCAAP/ALL_513 Yes Our members use all the local parks and woodlands that have public access. The proximity of Bedgebury
forest is important and much valued, but non-motorised access to it could be easier.
British Horse Society TCAAP/ALL_514 Yes Our members particularly use Bedgebury Forest, for horse riding. However, the requirement to buy a permit
to ride there off the bridleways is a disincentive for some (especially children who ride other people's horses
and whose parents do not ride) and is seen as unfair when cyclists and walkers are not required to pay for
access.
Mr Oliver Tyrwhitt TCAAP/ALL_680 No
J O'Keefe TCAAP/ALL_2995 Yes Just to walk through,
But some of those areas we do have are little but a junk yard for the yobs to dump litter, they are never
cleared. Who wants to go for a walk through that? And do we need any more. No
Mr John Cook TCAAP/ALL_3010 Yes I walk using many local footpaths visiting a number of woodland areas around the district, while they still
exist. I do not visit parks as they tend to be playing fields and play areas for children. There are currently NO
public parks as such. If there were they would be vandalised most probably.
Mr Marcus Weekes TCAAP/ALLe_1 Yes While it's still there i do, yes.
I also take note of the 'beautiful' country side surrounding the area, and the amount of damage that is being
done to it as i write.
Mr John Fleming TCAAP/ALLe_2 Yes
walking and love the countryside around here.
Mr Jonathan Martin TCAAP/ALLe_6 Yes As a family we regularly walk in and around the village - we live in a very beautiful location.
Mr Marcus Baldwin TCAAP/ALLe_7 No I live on the outskirts of the village and have access to public footpaths that give me the access I need to
open countryside.
Mr Michael Garlick TCAAP/ALLe_10 Yes Ockley Road allotments, Whites Lane and adjoining fields and woodland
Mr Roderick Wheat TCAAP/ALLe_22 Yes I enjoy much of the country around Hawkhurst on a very regular - almost daily - basis. This nis not a park, just
Kentish countryside at its best, and the section along Whites Lane is amongst the finest
Mrs Wendy Gibbs TCAAP/ALLe_23 Yes I walk through the area known as little Switzerland , Whites lane ,the public right of way near Tongs wood
TCAAP/ALLe_25 Yes Children use the park on the Moor. As a family we use many of the public footpaths in and around Hawkhurst
eg the footpath across site 64, as well as many others that cross the surrounding farmland. We also visit the
nature reserve at Collingwood and woods adjacent to Fowlers Park
TCAAP/ALLe_26 Yes The only local park is The Moor, good just to enjoy the space and for major village events such as
fetes . There are also playing fields at The Moor and off Heartenoak Lane, which are ideal for my
grandchild. Otherwise there are many lanes, footpaths and (mostly) private woodland all of which I
and my family use whenever we can for walking and exercise.

Mr Richard Budd TCAAP/ALLe_42 No
I also go to Bewl water and Bedgebury Pinetum, as do many others - a more local, comparable facility would
be well used.
Mrs Nicola Wetherell TCAAP/ALLe_44 Yes We walk/run through the fields surounding whites lane and that run behind highgate hill. We also use the park
on the More.
Mrs Anna Duke TCAAP/ALLe_45 Yes Fowlers Park
Mr Robert Sims TCAAP/ALLe_46 Yes Loss of an AONB (Site 64): Whites Lane is currently a very quiet lane, used infrequently by vehicles, making
it a safe and peaceful place for walkers, cyclists, horse riders, dog walkers etc. The open fields are beautiful
and tranquil, used for hay, grazing and crops, and they include two ancient areas of woodland. Once an area
like this is gone, it is gone forever and for TWBC to be proposing to turn this into an urban eyesore
demonstrates a total lack of social responsibility for future generations.
Mr Jeremy Towner TCAAP/ALLe_47 Yes Woodland adjacent to Fowlers Park and footpaths between Highgate and The Moor for dog walking.
Mr Shaun Ashdown TCAAP/ALLe_48 Yes The Moor and all footpaths that surround the village plus Fowlers Wood. I used to use Heartenoak Playing
Mrs Julia Clark TCAAP/ALLe_59 No I visit the park in Hawkhurst Moor, but again feel more is needed like this in the main village.
Mr David Budd TCAAP/ALLe_60 No I farm
Mrs Sharon Bates TCAAP/ALLe_61 Yes I use the park at the Moor regularly. It has a popular, well-equipped playground that is visited by people from
other villages. Because it is spacious, the children run between pieces of equipment, ensuring a good
'workout' when playing there. They also love climbing the trees and playing in the bushes surrounding the
playground. I know that they are safe even when they are out of sight. As the playing fields are adjacent to
the park, the children are able to make use of the facilities there as well - it takes them a long time to get
bored!
Mr Ashley Ward TCAAP/ALLe_62 No
I also walk daily in the woodland surrounding the village. I often walk my dog through the woods from Talbot
Road to Marlborough House School and round the fields there. I also frequent the Nature Reserve on Stream
Lane and walk from Highgate Hill to Rye Road (near Fowler's Park) through the woods and fields. From there
I walk over to Whites Lane and make a circuit home. On other days I walk down Hensil Lane and over the
fields to Delmonden Lane or to the Cottage Hospital and over to Slip Mill Lane. My children accompany me
on the shorter walks and love playing in the woods.
Miss Natalie Nixon TCAAP/ALLe_63 Yes I use the Hastings country park and walk around the areas near where I live, as I love nature and animals.
Local park areas and woodlands provide open spaces and parkland for people to cylce through, walk around
etc. These should not be used for any buildings.
Miss Henrietta Budd TCAAP/ALLe_64 No We have no park.
