these courses must also have five GCSE passes<br />

at grade C or equivalent including mathematics<br />

and English.<br />

Studying Media & Creative Business at the<br />

<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Bolton</strong> gives you an excellent start<br />

What you will learn<br />

Both the FdSc and BSc (Hons) courses begin<br />

with the fundamentals <strong>of</strong> how the media<br />

industry operates, how to develop and grow<br />

ideas, and how to sell those ideas locally,<br />

nationally and globally.The courses help you<br />

develop sound business and financial concepts,<br />

both on a personal and managerial level. We<br />

continue to develop your understanding <strong>of</strong><br />

these areas in the second year <strong>of</strong> these courses<br />

including a more in-depth approach to ideas<br />

generation, marketing and content development<br />

across all platforms.<br />

If you are initially registered for the FdSc you will<br />

be eligible to progress onto the final year <strong>of</strong> the<br />

BSc (Hons) course after successful completion <strong>of</strong><br />

the foundation degree.<br />

In the final year <strong>of</strong> the BSc (Hons) degree your<br />

strategic media management skills will be further<br />

enhanced and you will also develop the strategic<br />

thinking and planning skills that have been<br />

highlighted by the industry as essential.<br />
