Neighborhood Clusters
Based on a combination of physical contiguity and educational similarity, students across the United States have been
divided into 180,000 geographic neighborhoods that have unique behavioral profi les. Using the fi rst factor, and then
cluster analysis, these geographic neighborhoods are grouped into 30 unique educational neighborhood clusters that
can be recognizably described.
High School Clusters
Utilizing information from 4 million student records and the same processes as in our neighborhood analysis, more
than 28,000 high schools in the United States have been grouped into 30 descriptive clusters.
