2 in phases.We would like to request all community members to cooperate with our team-members engaged in the collection and compilation of data. The collection and compilation of the data through a newly procured comprehensive software will ensure availability and analysis of community statistics and pave the way for the formulation and designing of policies and plans, both short term and long term. A complete system of levels of accessability has been incorporated in the software so as to ensure that the data collected remains confidential. Indeed, the task cannot be accomplished without the cooperation of the community members. Apart from multiple advantages, the Jamaat intends to issue digitalized ID and Health Cards to each member of the family, in order to provide access to the Health and other facilities provided by the KPSIAJ. Library and Reading Room The importance of a well stocked library in promoting education, general awareness and developing reading habit cannot be denied. Having remained unused for some time, the Jamaat Library has now been refurbished and air-conditioned to facilitate users, particularly our students, to pursue their quest for knowledge in a pleasant environment. About 5000 titles are available with regular additions every month The library is now equipped with 2 computers to facilitate library users, and would be especially helpful to the students. Library facility is available to members upon a nominal membership fee. Sports Activities Mental and physical fitness are interdependent. To promote healthy activities among the youth, the Sports sub committee is entrusted to undertake steps for engaging our youngsters in sports. Jamaat also acquires the services of professional coaches on payment. Coaching classes are conducted from time to time for karate, table tennis, cricket and football. Indoor games are organized at the FEN premises while matches for cricket and football are organized at various grounds in the city. The interest and participation of the youth in sporting events is growing rapidly. A professional table tennis coach provided training to our boys aged 8 to 16 years during the Summer Camp. Badminton courts have been developed in the open courtyards of the College buildings to facilitate our students. Fatimiyah College (Boys and Girls Campus) has been equipped with Gym equipments for students. Human Resource Committee Due to the slow down of the economy, the role of HRC has become increasingly vital in helping job seekers. HRC of Jamaat has geared itself up to meet the challenges of the task assigned to it. In order to streamline the system, IT based software has been installed to record and process the applications. A seminar on career guidance and development was conducted to aprise applicants of the professional skills and other necessary tools required for effective Presentation. The placements made by this committee upto December 2010 has been most encouraging. So far, 150 applications have been received out of which by the grace of Almighty Allah, and proactive efforts by the committee members, 64 applicants have been successfully placed in various positions and many are in the process of test and interviews. All avenues are being explored to reach the prospective employers. Response from Community, business houses and banks has been very positive. The support being provided by the senior members of the Managing Committee is highly commendable. HRC is confident, that with the continued support of the Community, there will be a sizeable enhancement in the number of placements. HRC Seminar A seminar titled “Towards a Winning Career” (How to get the job you really want) was organized by the members of the Human Resouce Committee KPSIAJ, on 8th August 2009 at Fatimiyah – ECE Auditorium. The objective of the Seminar was to educate and help the youth to prepare their portfolios. Representatives of Pakistan’s leading organizations like Barclays Bank PLC Pakistan, Glaxo Simthkline Ltd, Pakistan and Reckett Benckiser Ltd, Pakistan addressed the participants on the following topics: • What the Employers look for in Candidates’ today. • Writing the perfect CV. • Preparing for an Emplyment Interview. The seminar concluded with a Q/A session. Possession of newly acquired plot Possession of the plot adjacent to Bhojani Hall measuring 2000 sq. yards has been acquired after completion of all the formalities and the title now stands in the name of KPSIAJ. A ceremony to mark the occasion was held on 10th Oct 2009. It was attended by Donors, Vendors, members of Resource Mobilization Sub-Committee, and members of the Managing Committee. The President and the Honorary General
Secretary of the Jamaat signed the documents. The previous management committee had signed an agreement of purchase and made about 50% of the payment. We express our deep gratitude to the donors who fulfilled their pledge, enabling us to execute the sale deed and obtain the possession of the plot. This plot will be used for further expansion of the Fatimiyah Education Network. Expansion of Fatmiyah Hospital A remarkable improvement has been witnessed in the performance of Fatimiyah Hospital during the recent months. The Management of the hospital has won the confidence of patients and their families through improvement in the services and facilities. It is note worthy that the capacity of the hospital has been increased from 43 beds to 65 beds, by merely adjusting the available space for optimum utilization. The General Wards have been airconditioned to provide all patients (without discrimination) the best possible treatment at affordable costs. Number of OPD Clinics have also been increased to enhance Specialists’ Consultancy. Donation Box Sub Committee The project was introduced by Shaheed Hamid Ali Bhojani.It has proved vital for generating funds for the promotion of Education. The project was given due attention since the start of the tenure. The committee took up the task zealously and through its efforts enhanced the number of donors from 850 to 1000. Efforts are continuing to raise it to 1500 in the coming months, to meet the growing cost of educational expenses. New Software has been purchased to replace the conventional system of maintaining the records manually. We thank all the community members for their encouraging response to our efforts,and request them to further enhance their participation in the noble cause of educating and training the community. The Event Managing Committee The committee is assigned with the task of organizing programs on different occasions. Such programs do not only impart valuable knowledge; but also provide an opportunity for both the community members and the management, to assemble and interact with each other to promote better communication. Some of the programs organised by the committee: i) Ramazan Dars programs An elaborate program consisting of Seminars and Talk shows was chalked out for the Holy month of Ramzan, aimed at spreading the Divine Message for the guidance of all believers. Prominent scholars addressed the gatherings to give spiritual insights and understanding on subjects having deep impact on our individual as well as collective life. Scholarly and healthy discussions on the following subjects enlightened the participants whose keen interest was witnessed in the question answer session. • Comparative rights of children and parents • Bad Innovations in religion • The concept of divorce in Islam • In the light of Islamic morality; Contentment • Problems of Computer Age and its solutions • Quranic injunction on the Day of Judgment • Family problems and their solutions from the Islamic point of view • Reality of Invocations and main points of Dua-e-Iftitah • How to induce children towards religion • Contributions of Religious scholars of Indo-Pak • Priorities of Knowledge • Unity of Muslim Umma in the contemporary world • Perceiving man according to Quranic point of view ii) Seerat Conference A Seerat Conference was held to celebrate the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Zehra (S.A) on the eve 10th May 2009. Allama Taqi Shah and Agha Shahid Kashifi spoke on the occasion and highlighted the multidimensional aspects of Seerate Tayyaba Hazrat Fatima( S.A).They exhorted women who aspire to achieve success in this world and the hereafter to follow in the foot steps of Bibi Fatima Zehra (S.A) . iii) Condolence Meeting A meeting was held on 20th May 2009 to condole the death of the great Islamic scholar Ayatollah Syed Mohammad Taqi Behjat, who dedicated his life to serve the cause of Islam. His life was a blessing for the followers of the Ahle Bait and he was truly an asset to the Shiite community. Maulana Syed Ali Murtuza Zaidi and his Eminince Agha Bahauddin shed light on the life of Ayatullah Behjat who inspired and benefited the seekers of knowledge and truth with profound insight and Irfaniyat. iv) Quiz Competition The students of Fatimiyah Girls and Fatimiyah Boys School participated in a Quiz Competition based on the life of Imam Khomeini. Besides being Grand Ayatollah Maraj-e-Taqlid, he was also a great revolutionary leader. He impacted the world with his revolutionary ideas and philosophy, aimed at stablising the 3
