Pursuit of Academic Excellence at FEN At FEN, plans to achieve holistic objectives of education are constantly reviewed to ensure that the system operates at a high performance level to deliver worthy education. 1. Value Orientation Program The first step of course, is to ‘Enlighten the Teachers to Enlighten the Child’. A Teachers’ Value Orientation Session was launched in the month of July 2009, in which 20 classes were conducted for the entire faculty of FEN, with subsequent periodic sessions planned throughout the year. 2. Curriculum Screening & Enrichment A Curriculum Screening Program has been initiated to screen, and enrich, all text materials for all classes. The underlying purpose is to identify ‘implicit messages’ if any (between the lines), transmitted by certain publishers or text materials, which tend to distort the child’s value system, and his understanding of our core beliefs. Under this program, subject concepts are re enforced with value and direction, or dilutions, as applicable, by a competent Ideological Resource (IR). Women Wing of KPSIAJ Active participation of women in community welfare and awareness programs is essential for the betterment and prosperity of the community. Great and successful leaders are raised in the laps of great mothers. The wing has been visibly active in mobilizing community women in different activities and programs. In the last six months it has conducted and organized programs some of which are mentioned in brief. (a) Youme Janabe Sayyeda (S.A) The birth anniversary of Khatoon-e-Jannat Janabe Fatima Zehra (S.A) was celebrated by organizing a Milad for ladies on Monday 1st June 2009 at Shaheed Hamid Ali Bhojani Hall. It was attended by more than 700 ladies and children. (b) Women Summer Camp 2009 A five week session of Summer Classes was organized at Fatmiyah Girls School from 8 of June 2009 to 10 of July 2009. The program received a good response as 338 ladies participated. Different classes arranged in Arts and Crafts evoked keen interest of the participants . At the end of the session, the juniors and seniors were taken to recreational trips to Zoological Garden and Fun Land respectively. (c) Milad and Mela The KPSIAJ Managing Committee decided to consider and celebrate 20th Jamadis- Sani, birthday of Hazrat Fatima Zehra (S.A) as the World’s Women Day,and proposed that every year the Wiladat should be celebrated in the spirit of Eid. On 14 of June 2009, the Event Management Committee along with the Women Wing of KPSIAJ arranged a ladies Milad to celebrate the Wiladat of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (S.A.) The Women Wing organized a Mela on 21st June 2009 for ladies and children, to provide them an opportunity to celebrate the occasion in its true spirit. (d)Vocational Program After successful organization of the summer classes, a Vocational Programme for the women and young girls of the community was launched in the evenings from 28th September to 12thDecember 2009.The classes which were held thrice a week, included various professional arts and craft. A karate class for children was an additional feature of the program. (e) Monthly Dars Monthly Dars on ‘AQAAID’ was conducted by Mohtarma Tahira Fazli for the ladies of the community. The program commenced in October 2009 at the Fatmiyah Community Centre and continued till December 2009. (f) English Language Class Weekly English Language Preparatory classes for Board Examination for the students of class IX to XII were conducted for 40 students from 9th January till 20th March 2010. Another six week session began on the request of the previous participants from 27th March,2010. (g) Jashn-e-Eid –Zehra (S.A.) Jashn-e-Eid-e-Zehra was celebrated on the 9th Rabi-ul-Awwal 1431 corresponding to 24th February 2010 at Shaheed Hamid Ali Bhojani Hall. 1800 ladies and children attended the program. (h) Outing An outing for ladies of 20 years of age and above was arranged at BK farm on Saturday 3rd April,2010. 150 ladies of the community spent the day with great joy. ( i )Vocational Program (kharadar) Six weeks class in Self grooming,Sewing and Mehndi has been arranged for girls living in Kharadar from 6th April 2010. 50 girls have registered for the class which will continue till 11th May,2010. Fatimiyah Community Centre The Donor of Ghusal Khana had expressed concerns with regard to its maintenance. The Managing Committee undertook the task of the renovations, and completed it to the satisfaction of the donor. Jamaat’s funds were not utilized for the renovations. The expenses for the renovations were shared/raised by the members. Family Relations Committee FRC (KPSIAJ) has been working devotedly for the past several years to render support and help to those members of the community who seek the Jamaat’s help to resolve their family/marital disputes. By the grace of Allah and the sincere efforts of the members, now the ratio of divorce vs. compromise has improved considerably. Community members (facing family issues) are requested to involve FRC at an early stage of the dispute, so as to enable it to resolve matters amicably and to the satisfaction of
oth parties. Let’s work together to make the community strong. Seminar A seminar on the topic ‘Ilm aur Aqdar’ (Knowledge and Values) was organised on 3rd Jan 2010 at Shaheed Hamid Ali Bhojani Hall for ladies and gents. The program commenced with the recitation of a manaqabat by Ali Safdar Rizvi. Hujjat-ul- Islam Ayatullah Aqeel-ul Garvi addressed the gathering for an hour on the topic Ilm aur Aqdar (Knowledge and Values). The speech was followed by a Q/A session. A documentary on the topic of Shahadat with special reference of’ ‘Sanha-e-Ashura’ was also witnessed by the gathering. Niaz was served at end of the seminar. The Jamaat had made special arrangements to provide transport service (pick and drop) from different areas of the city to Bhojani Hall. Majlis-e-Aza A Majlis –Aza was held at Hussaini Bagh Qabrastan No.1. (gents only) on 28th Safar (13th February 2010), Shahdat of Propet (PBUH) and Imam Hassan (A.S.). The majlis was addressed by Maulana Haider Turabi. It was the first program to be conducted at the premises after the re-possession of the place. Qayam-e-Hussain Conference A five day Conference was organised at Bhojani Hall for (ladies and gents).The program consisted of one hour of speech followed by an hour of Q/A session.The main theme of the conference was Qayam-e- Hussain (A.S). All the speakers spoke in the light of the main theme of the conference. Following are the details of the event. Speaker: Hujjat- ul-Islam wal Muslimeen Maulana Sheikh Salahuddin Topic: Falsafa-e-Qayam-e-Hussain (A.S) Day: 22nd Safar Speaker: Hujjat- ul-Islam wal Muslimeen Maulana Sheikh Shabbir Hassan Maisami Topic: Nehzate Bibi Zainab (s.a) Day: 23rd Safar Speaker: Quaid-e-Millat-e-Jafferia Hujjat- ul-Islam wal Muslimeen Allama Syed Sajid Naqvi Topic: Waqya-Karbala aur Asre Hazir ka Taqabuli Jaiza Day: 4th Safar Speaker: Hujjat- ul-Islam wal Muslimeen Maulana Syed Jawad Naqvi Topic: Qayam-Hussain (A.S) AZ Nazre Imam Khomeine (R.A) Day: 25th Safar Speaker: Hujjat- ul-Islam wal Muslimeen Ayatullah Bahauddin Topic: Tehreek-e-Imam Hussain (A.S) Kay Ahdaaf Day: 26th Safar Syed Muhammad Musavi’s visit Hujjat-ul –Islam wal- Muslimeen Syed Muhammed Musavi visited FEN and Fatimiyah Hospital on Monday 1st March, 2010.The president KPSIAJ received the distinguished guest along with members of the Managing Committee. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Muhammed Musavi praised the efforts of the Jamaat for establishing Educational and Health Unit.He opined that KPSIAJ is considered as a nucleus among the vast Khoja population around the globe for the services it renders for the benefit of members. Family Park (Fatimiyah Sports and Recreation Centre Phase I) The opening ceremony of the 1st phase of the Fatimiyah Sports&Recreation Centre was held at the Fatimiyah School of ECE on 7th March 2010. The ceremony commenced with a recitation of Dua by Aga Asghar Hussain Shaheedi. Mr. Naveed Muqadum, member Managing Committee in his inaugural speech briefed the guests about the salient features of the family Park. Mr.Ali Hussain Rajab Ali, the chief guest, performed the formal opening of the Family Park on the occasion of the wiladat of the Holy Prophet (Pbuh) and Imam Jafar-e-Sadiq (A.S.). In his speech, he praised the efforts of the Jamaat and prayed for the success of similar projects in the future.The President KPSIAJ briefed the gathering about the upcoming projects related to sports and education.The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks, followed by a tour of the Park and refreshments. Jashn-Sadeqain (A.S.) & Wahdat Conference Maulana Syed Ali Murtaza Zaidi, Professor Dr.Hafiz Ahsan-ul-Haq, and Maulana Mohammed Raza Dawoodani adressed a conference on the topic Wehdat and Seerat Sadeqain (A.S) held at the Shaheed Hamid Ali Bhojani Hall on 9th March 2010. for both (ladies and gents). The conference commenced with a manqabat by Asim Raza, Rizwan Zaidi,and Musayab Zaidi. The program was organised on the theme of Wehdat-e-Muslimeen, and was attended by a representative of Ahle-Sunnat Professor Dr. Hafiz Ahsanul –Haq (Professor of Islamiyat at KU), who was invited as a speaker at the conference. Majlis-e-Isaal-e-Sawaab of Community Marhumeen (Mahe- Rabi-ul-Awal) Maulana Mohammed Raza Dawoodani addressed a Majlis on 18th March2010 for the Isaal- Sawaab of 24 community marhumeen who passed away in the month of Rabi-ul- Awal. The majlis was held at the Fatimiyah Community Centre (Ghusal Khana). Majalis will now be held on every first Thursday of the month for -Isaal-e-Sawaab of community marhumeen who passed away in the previous month. Hussaini Bagh No 1. Graveyard As the community is aware that Hussaini Bagh no.1 (graveyard) has been under illegal occupation by the family members of one of the Jamaat’s old employee (deceased) since last 3 years. The previous management’s untiring efforts to end this illegal occupation 5
