1. Inskrywingsgelde R100 per groep.<br />

2. Deelnemers mag hul eie rostra voorsien maar dit moet maklik deur<br />

leerders/deelnemers self hanteer word.<br />

3. Stemgebruik, gesigsuitdrukking en atmosfeer word beoordeel - nie handeling,<br />

dekor of rekwisite nie.<br />

1. Een stem moet nie die groep oorheers nie.<br />

5. Waak teen oorartikulasie. Hou spraak natuurlik<br />

6. Maak gebruik van wisseling in volume, pousering, beklemtoning en toonhoogte.<br />

7. Interessante rangskikking van die leerders/deelnemers word aangemoedig.<br />

8. Poog om met klank en ritme soveel kleur as moontlik aan die koorspraak te<br />

verleen - skep ook eie byklanke. Geen musiekinstrumente of elektroniese<br />

apparaat toelaatbaar.<br />

9 . U hoef nie slegs by die gekose gedig se woorde te bly nie. Toevoegings,<br />

herhalings van sekere dele, asook klein veranderings aan die struktuur van die<br />

gedig om uitvoerbaarheid te verbeter, is toelaatbaar.<br />

10. Aangesien dit koorspraak is, dus 'n groep mense wat saam iets uitvoer, mag<br />

die afrigter die koor dirigeer.


11. Groep moet uit meer as 15 leerders / deelnemers bestaan.<br />

12. Klere speel nie „n rol by koorspraak nie, aangesien dit „n luister aangeleentheid<br />

is. Basiese kleredrag bv. Jeans en withemp is toelaatbaar – geen kostuums.<br />

13. Beweging: In gewone koorspraak is dit verkieslik om beweging tot die absolute<br />

minimum te beperk bv. knik van koppe en wiegbeweging van groep. Oormatige<br />

beweging sal gepenaliseer word.<br />

2. Participants may supply their own rostra, but it must be such that it can be<br />

easily handled by the learners/participants.<br />

3. The use of voi<strong>ce</strong>, facial expression and atmosphere is adjudicated - not<br />

actions, decor or props.<br />

4. One voi<strong>ce</strong> must not overpower the group.<br />

5. Avoid over articulation - keep it natural.<br />

6. Use a variety of pa<strong>ce</strong>, pauses, volume, emphasis and tones.<br />

7. Interesting formation of the group is also encouraged.<br />

8. Create a colourful sound experien<strong>ce</strong> by using rhythm, sounds and sound<br />

effects. No musical instruments or electronic devi<strong>ce</strong>s may be used to create<br />

sound affects<br />

9. You need not stick to the words of the chosen poem. Additions, repetition of<br />

sections, background voi<strong>ce</strong>s etc. may be used, to add to the atmosfere.<br />

10. As this is a speech choir, a group of people performing in unison, the<br />

instructor may conduct the choir.<br />

11. There is no limit to the number of learners/participants in a speech choir. The


group must consist of more than 15 children.<br />

12. Time limit 4 minutes<br />

13. Clothing does not play a role in speech choirs, as it is primarily a listening<br />

occasion. Costumes are not permitted. Basic clothing eg. Jeans and white<br />

shirts may be worn.<br />

14. Movement: In ordinary speech choirs, it is advisable to limit movements to the<br />

absolute minimum, eg:- nodding heads, swaying together. Ex<strong>ce</strong>ssive movement<br />

will be penalised.<br />

2. Keuse van die gedig moet by die ouderdom, persoonlikheid en ervaringsveld van<br />

die deelnemer pas. N.B. Dit word aanbeveel om verskillende gedigte vir<br />

deelnemers in een afdeling van dieselfde skool te kies.<br />

3. Deelnemers moet hulself inleef ten opsigte van emosie en gesigspel. Gedig<br />

moet as persoonlike belewenis aangebied word.


4. Voorkom geforseerde onnatuurlike bewegings.<br />

5. Natuurlike lyftaal is aanvaarbaar tot en met graad 6, maar nie by ouer<br />

deelnemers nie.<br />

6. Maak gebruik van pouses, frasering, tempowisseling en variasie in toonhoogte<br />

om aanbieding interessant te maak.<br />

7. 'n Afskrif van die gedig moet aan die beoordelaar oorhandig word.<br />

8. Kies „n gedig wat meer as 6 reëls bevat.<br />

9. Om in aanmerking te kom vir 'n toekenning in Grade 8 – 12 en ope<br />

afdelings moet deelnemers beide voorgeskrewe en eie keuse werke doen.<br />

Die voorgeskrewe gedigte (hoërskole) is uit: “GROOT VERSEBOEK 2000”<br />

(André P Brink); en kan ook by Zandra Duvenhage (072 607 1513) gekry word.<br />

8. Die keuse moet geskik wees vir die spesifieke ouderdomsgroep.<br />

9. Om in aanmerking te kom vir „n toekenning in graad 8 tot ope afdelings<br />

2. The choi<strong>ce</strong> of poem must suit the age, personality and experien<strong>ce</strong> of the child.<br />

NB. It is advisable to choose different poems for each entrant, in the<br />

event that there is more than one entrant per school, per section. Do not<br />

choose the same poem for all entrants from one school.<br />

3. Natural delivery, obvious involvement and understanding of the poem is<br />

recommended.<br />

4. Avoid too many for<strong>ce</strong>d, unnatural movements.<br />

5. Natural body language is ac<strong>ce</strong>ptable up to grade 6. From grade 7 to open no<br />

movements<br />

6. Make use of pauses, differen<strong>ce</strong> in tempo and variety of tone, to add interest<br />

to the delivery.<br />

7. Try to choose poems which are longer than 6 lines. It is extremely difficult<br />

to adjudicate 4 lines!<br />

8. A copy of the poem must be handed to the adjudicator.<br />

9. In order to qualify for an award from Grade 8 - 12 and the open<br />

section, participants must do both prescribed poems as well as own<br />

choi<strong>ce</strong>.<br />

2. A Group Project requires more than a dramatized speech choir.<br />

3. Projects may be made up of an original, personal combination of poetry,<br />

prose, reading, mime and even music. Please note : This is not a play.<br />

4. Spontaneous creativity, originality and entertainment value must be<br />

emphasised and will be noted during adjudication.<br />

5. Comfortable clothing must be worn, no costumes are permitted.<br />

6. Time limit between 4 - 6 minutes. Groups which do not heed this rule will be<br />

penelised<br />

7. Groups may be conducted.<br />

8. The group must consist of 6 or more participants.<br />

9. Should the group use sound equipment, they must provide their own.<br />

8. Vier minute voorbereidingstyd vir die onvoorbereide onderwerp word<br />

toegelaat.<br />

9. Die leerder / deelnemer moet dan onmiddelik na afloop van die 4 minute sy /<br />

haar toespraak aan die beoordelaar lewer.


10. Die beoordelaar sal 2 punte toeken: een vir voorbereid en een vir<br />

onvoorbereid<br />

11. Die rekordklerk sal dan „n gemiddelde punt bereken en op grond van hierdie<br />

gemiddelde punt sal HL, L, EV of M toegeken word.<br />

12. Leerders wat nie „n onvoorbereide toepspraak lewer nie, sal nie in aanmerking<br />

vir „n kategoriewenner kan kom nie. Slegs een punt vir die voorbereide<br />

toespraak, sal dan deur die beoordelaar toegeken word.<br />

13. Daar sal geen tydsbeperking vir die lewer van die onvoorbereide toespraak<br />

wees nie – die leerder sal hom/haarself bevoordeel met „n goeie, deeglike<br />

inhoud.<br />

14. Dit moet „n berenerende toespraak wees.<br />

5. Topics for unprepared speeches will be provided by the adjudicator.<br />

6. Participants in a specific grade will be provided with the same topic.<br />

7. Participants are accompanied to a "waiting room" after the conclusion of their<br />

prepared speech, whereupon they are provided with the topic for their<br />

unprepared speech, in order of participation, by the adjudicator.<br />

8. Participants are allowed four minutes to prepare for the unprepared speech.<br />

9. The learner/participant must commen<strong>ce</strong> presenting his/her speech to the<br />

adjudicator immediately after the four minutes has elapsed.<br />

10. The adjudicator will award separate marks for the prepared and impromptu<br />

speeches<br />

11. The record clerk will calculate the average mark and this mark will determine<br />

whether an HH, H, HM or M will be awarded to the participant.<br />

12. Learners who do not present an unprepared speech, will not be considered for<br />

the award of category winner. In such cases, the adjudicator will only award a<br />

mark for the prepared speech.


13. There is no time limit for the presentation of an unprepared speech. However,<br />

a good comprehensive content will be to the advantage of the learner.<br />

14. It must be a persuasive and argumentative speech.<br />

1. Inskrywingsgelde / Entry Fees Solo Mime R25, Group Mime R100<br />

2. Mimiekaanbiedings behoort (soos 'n kort drama) 'n tema met 'n karakter wat<br />

konflik beleef, te bevat. Die konflik kan komies of tragies wees.<br />

A mime pie<strong>ce</strong> should be similar in content to a short drama i.e. it should have a<br />

character who works through a conflict situation around a <strong>ce</strong>rtain theme. The<br />

conflict can be comical or tragic .<br />

3. Abstrakte mimiek beeld 'n idee uit wat die waarnemer se emosies aanraak.<br />

Letterlike mimiek toon 'n reeks realistiese gebeure.<br />

Abstract Mime presents an idea, which touches the observer‟s emotion, while<br />

Literal Mime depicts a series of realistic occurren<strong>ce</strong>s.<br />

4. Solomimiek (sonder musiek) kan van allerlei klanke vergesel word, mits dit nie<br />

spraakklanke is nie.<br />

Solo Mime (without music) may include a variety of sounds excluding<br />

conventional speech.<br />

5. Solomimiek (met musiek) moet van gepaste byklanke voorsien word. Die<br />

mimikus behoort sy bewegings met die musiek te koördineer. Mimiek is nie<br />

bloot bewegings om die woorde van vokale musiek te illustreer nie.<br />

Solo Mime (with music) must adhere to the following: The music must suit the<br />

theme and the movements must work in accordan<strong>ce</strong> with the music. Mime is<br />

not movement to merely illustrate the words of vocal music.<br />

6. Groepmimiek beeld ook 'n geskikte gegewe, soos die solomimiek uit, maar alle<br />

deelnemers vertolk 'n gelyke aandeel.<br />

Group mime must also follow a suitable theme, but each participant must<br />

contribute equally to the performan<strong>ce</strong>.<br />

7. Deelnemers mag van geen dekor of rekwisiete gebruik maak nie behalwe die<br />

beskikbare stoele.<br />

No decor or props, ex<strong>ce</strong>pt for the available chairs, allowed.<br />

8. Dogters moet swart leotards en lang swart kouse dra. 'n Swart romp is<br />

toelaatbaar. Seuns dra swart broeke met leotards of wit hemde.<br />

Girls must wear black leotards. A black skirt is allowed. Boys may wear black<br />

trousers with a leotard or white shirt.<br />

9. Grimering is opsioneel. Die wit maskergesig is tradisioneel.<br />

Make-up is optional. The white mask fa<strong>ce</strong> is traditional.


10. Die titel van die mimiek kan vooraf op 'n wit plakkaat vertoon óf duidelik<br />

aangekondig word voordat die deelnemer met die optrede begin.<br />

The title of the mime may be displayed on a white banner or be announ<strong>ce</strong>d<br />

before the participant starts the performan<strong>ce</strong>.<br />

11. Tydsbeperking 3 min marks / Time limit 3 min max.<br />

12. Deelnemers moet hul eie CD speler voorsien / Participants must provide their<br />

own CD player.<br />

consist of spoken words.<br />

7. OPTREEREGTE / PERFORMANCE RIGHTS<br />

a. Regisseurs / Organiseerders moet toesien dat die nodige opvoerregte vir<br />

tekste bekom is. Vir tekste wat by DALRO geregistreer is, kan DALRO<br />

direk geskakel word. Vir tekste wat nie by DALRO geregistreer is nie,<br />

moet die dramaturg of sy/haar wettige verteenwoordiger se skriftelike<br />

toestemming vooraf gekry word om dit op te voer en moet die<br />

8. BEKENDMAKING VAN UITSLAE EN WENNERS<br />

a. In elke kategorie word die top 3 nominasies aangedui, waarvan een dan die<br />

wenner sal wees.<br />

In each category the 3 top nominations will be announ<strong>ce</strong>d, one of which<br />

will then be the winner.<br />

b.Die finale punte vir al 9 kategorieë, insluitende die ensemble (indien van<br />

toepassing), alle akteurs, aktrises en individue in die verhoog-, klank- en<br />

beligtingspan, word bekend gemaak.


The final marks for all nine categories, including the ensemble (if<br />

applicable), all actors, actresses and individuals in the stage, sound and<br />

ligtgting teams, will be made public.<br />

skerpmakers, uitveërs en woordeboeke saambring.<br />

6. Alleenlik deelnemers en opsieners sal in die lokale toegelaat word.<br />

7. Onderwerpe, tyd en en instruksies sal duidelik uiteengesit word.<br />

8. Die meeste deelnemers skryf ongeveer ongeveer 1 - 1½ uur. Opvoeders word<br />

gevra om ouers daaromtrent in te lig!<br />

9. Die beoordelaar sal die volgende aspekte asseseer<br />

- Die inhoud van die werk<br />

- In hoe „n mate by die onderwerp gehou word<br />

- Die voorgeskrewe aantal worde – min of meer<br />

10. Kreatiewe denke en die element van verrassing aan die einde van die werk sal<br />

beslis hoër punte verdien.<br />

11. Skryfstyl, taalvaardighede en die vermoë om hom/haarself uit te druk sal ook<br />

in ag geneem word.<br />

12. Maak asseblief seker dat leerders hul inskrywings kaartjies saam neem na die<br />

lokaal waar die skeppende skryfwerk geskryf word.

Rules<br />

1. Entry Fees R25<br />

2. Creative Writing for Grade 4 - 7 will take pla<strong>ce</strong> at Panorama Primary<br />

School at 15:00 on 19 June 2013.<br />

3. Grade 8 - Open participants are to be at Stellenberg High School by<br />

15:00 on 19 June 2013.<br />

4. Topics will be handed to the supervisors immediately before commen<strong>ce</strong>ment<br />

of writing.<br />

5. Learners/Participants must bring their own pencils, (Gr 4 & 5) pens (Gr 6 &<br />

7), sharpeners, erasers and dictionaries.<br />

6. Only participants and the supervisors will be allowed in the allocated rooms.<br />

7. The topics, time allocation and instructions will be clearly stated.<br />

8. Most learners usually write for ± 1½ hours. Educators must kindly inform<br />

parents of entrants of this.<br />

9. The adjudicator will assess the content of the pie<strong>ce</strong> and also chec that the<br />

writer has adhered to the topic in more or less the specified number of<br />

words.<br />

10. Creative thoughts and the element of surprise at the end, will definitely


esult in higher marks.<br />

11. Writing style, language skills and ability to express him/herself will also be<br />

observed.<br />

12. Please ensure that learners bring their entry cards with them on the day.<br />
