(7) Operating multiple instances of Vsim on a single workstation
Vsim UPDATE NOTICE R8.09A
1. SUMMARY OF REVISION
To operate multiple instances of Vsim on a single workstation, sufficient swap space for additional
users is required in addition to the hardware resources of swap capacity listed in
(6), “Program size and system configuration.”
• Solaris 7 5/99, Solaris 8 1/01, Solaris 8 2/02, and Solaris 9 8/03, and Solaris 10 11/06
Swap space consumption per user according to the system
configurations of the tester simulator
When using the standard configuration
When the RBS_MIXED2 option is set to on
Note: The swap space consumption does not include the consumption of applications required
to start after Vsim is started.
Improvement A warning message is now displayed during optimization.
(4) In the PIN or SIGNAL mode optimization, if all of the following conditions were satisfied,
specified values (values that run counter to limitations of timing value (*1)) were sometimes
set without optimizing.
Pin type: IO or IOXT
Waveform mode: XOR, XORINV, XOR_B, XORINV_B, XOR_IO, XORINV_IO, DNRZ2,
DNRZ2INV, FCRA, FCRAINV, FCRB, FCRBINV, FCRC, or FCRCINV
Timing values: Values set for DREL and driver edge were different.
4. IMPROVED ITEMS
(*1) For waveforms that are given as a condition shown above, the following limitation
applies: values that are specified for DREL and driver edge must be the same.
(The driver edge to be targeted differs depending on the waveform mode.)
Relevant software revisions: R5.00 and later (T6683, T6682, T6673, T6672, T6671B,
Improvement Values are now correctly (according to limitations) set.
