• Continue irrigation as long as possible after application before starting the<br />

drying off period where applicable.<br />

• All currently approved commercial varieties can be ripened.<br />

• Most of the sucrose increase is concentrated in the top nodes. Top at the<br />

base of the fourth leaf sheath.<br />

• Chemical activity is sometimes evidenced by slight leaf yellowing in<br />

early season cane and bud swell with side shooting in late season cane,<br />

within 3 - 4 weeks after application. Apical growth ceases and spindle<br />

death may occur.<br />

• Ratoon may have increased tiller population and/or slightly stunted tillers<br />

with chlorotic leaves which will recover.
