Farmsecure acquisition of Yara retail fertilizer activities
approved without conditions

Yara International ASA and Farmsecure Technologies (Pty) Ltd announced on the 15th of
May 2010 their agreement in principle for Farmsecure to acquire Yara’s South African fertilizer
retail marketing businesses. The South African Competition Commission yesterday
approved the transaction without conditions, finalising its implementation.
All assets, employees and the historic Kynoch brand are included in the transaction, and
Farmsecure Technologies intends to rename the acquired businesses as Kynoch Fertilizer.
Kynoch will be the exclusive distributor of a selected range of premium Yara fertilizers.
“We are looking forward to being a supplier to Kynoch as one of our major clients in Africa”
says Trygve Magnussøn, Yara Head of Business Unit Africa.
Kynoch will be an importer, blender, distributor and retailer of a complete range of dry,
liquid and speciality fertilizers.

Farmsecure verkryging van Yara kleinhandel kunsmis-aktiwiteite
goedgekeur sonder voorwaardes

Yara Internasionaal ASA en Farmsecure Technologies (Edms) Bpk het op 15 Mei 2010
aangekondig dat hulle in beginsel ‘n ooreenstemming bereik het dat Farmsecure die Suid-
Afrikaanse kleinhandel kunsmis-aktiwiteite van Yara verkry. Die Suid-Afrikaanse Mededingingskommissie
het gister die transaksie onvoorwaardelik goedgekeur. Hierdie goedkeuring
was die finale stap in die proses en die transaksie kan dus gefinaliseer word.
Alle bates, werknemers, agente asook die historiese Kynoch handelsmerk is deel van die
transaksie en Farmsecure Technologies se voornemens is om die besigheid te herdoop na
‘Kynoch Kunsmis’. Kynoch sal die eksklusiewe verspreider wees van Yara Internasionaal se
reeks top kwaliteit self-geproduseerde kunsmis en spesialiteit kunsmisprodukte.

Kynoch sal ‘n invoerder, massamenger, verspreider en kleinhandelaar van ‘n volledige
reeks van droë, vloeibare en spesialiteit kunsmis wees.
