PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE<br />

Professor Winters is currently Professor Emeritus at Fairleigh Dickinson University<br />

(FDU), Teaneck, New Jersey, USA and has accepted in 2009 a Visiting Professorship at<br />

Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.<br />

Professor Winters has been at FDU since 1970 and was Director of <strong>Desalination</strong><br />

Technology at FDU from 1980-1988.<br />

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION<br />

Professor Winters is a reviewer for Journal of Membrane Science and IDA journal.<br />

He has been a Director of the International <strong>Desalination</strong> <strong>Association</strong> (IDA) and has<br />

received two prestigious awards from the IDA for most outstanding research papers<br />

at 1995 and 2005 IDA Congress for <strong>Desalination</strong> and Water Re-Use.<br />

Professor Winters’ research has focused on biofouling of Reverse Osmosis<br />

membranes and his research has been supported by National Science Foundation<br />

(NSF), Office of Navy Research (ONR), Middle East <strong>Desalination</strong> Research Center<br />

(MEDRC), and Bureau of Reclamation.<br />

He has over 50 research publications and has been awarded a patent on the use of<br />

chloramines to inhibit membrane biofouling in SWRO.<br />
