It is a pleasure to present our new stoma booklet to you. You will find
an extensive range of new products as well as product improvements.
In the Netherlands EuroTec develop and manufacture high grade
products to make the life of stoma patients as easy and comfortable
as possible. In this edition you will find products that are compatible
with other brands, as well as accessories that are unique to EuroTec.
The founders of EuroTec have more than 30 years experience in the
field of stoma care. EuroTec market and distribute their products in
various European and North-African countries. Their goal is to

WHERE EUROTEC FLANGES AND
POUCHES DISTINGUISH THEMSELVES
General
The 2-piece ostomy systems of
EuroTec are compatible with
those of Coloplast, ConvaTec
and Hollister. This means that
you can use a combination of

different manufacturers and go

COMBIMATE SUPERSOFT FLANGES
COMBIMATE SuperSoft flanges
are superior in terms of softness,
flexibility and comfort. This is the
result of the final top foam layer.
They are also safer than many
other flanges, where the rigid top
layer can potentially damage the
stoma when the adhesive layer
has melted. This effect is
prevented with SuperSoft flanges.
COMBIMATE SuperSoft flanges
are available with many pre-cut
openings that can be stretched if
needed.
This almost eliminates the necessity for cutting to size.
The flexible hydrocolloid skin barrier conforms to the contours of the
skin, even if this area is partially retracted.
COMBIMATE SuperSoft flanges are available in the sizes 38 mm,
45 mm, 57 mm, 70 mm, 85 mm and 100 mm. These EuroTec
flanges are fully compatible with
ConvaTec’s Natura system and
Hollister’s Tandem system.
The pouches and wafers of these
two systems are fully exchangeable.
The opening can be stretched easily and
will also expand during the passage of
solid stool.

COMBIMATE SUPERFLEX FLANGES
COMBIMATE SuperFlex flanges are in
fact smaller SuperSoft flanges, framed
by a flexible, breathable plaster.
The stoma opening, if too small, can be
stretched to fit. The foam top layer will
never cut into the stoma, even if the
hydrocolloid has melted.
COMBIMATE SuperFlex flanges are
available with a white water based plaster
frame (FFW version) or a slightly
stronger sticking beige plaster frame
(FFB version), both being very skin
friendly.
All COMBIMATE SuperFlex flanges will match ConvaTec’s
Natura pouches.
COMBIMATE SuperFlex flanges are
available with many pre-cut openings,
that can be stretched further. Cutting to
size will rarely be necessary.
COMBIMATE SuperFlex flanges are
available in flange diameters - 38 mm,
45 mm, 57 mm and 70 mm.
The beige SuperFlex flange is
available with a wide range of
pre-cut openings.
The adhesive surface of the
38 mm SuperFlex wafer (left)
is larger than the flexible flange
of ConvaTec (right), giving
more security with loose stool
or urine.
The stoma opening can easily be stretched.
With a stoma of 27 mm a 25 mm opening can be
selected and stretched. The stoma opening will
also expand with the passage of solid stool.

COMBIMATE CONVEX FLANGES
COMBIMATE convex flanges are available in Shallow Convex
and Extra Convex.
Convex flanges are used with stomas which are flush or retracted
and particularly when the surrounding skin is moist and irritated.
As no other, the COMBIMATE Convex flanges will perform well under
these conditions. To support the secure adhesion of the flange in a
retracted area, the use of a support belt may help (see pages 54 and 55).
The COMBIMATE Convex flange has a large hydrocolloid surface.
Available in Convex (FC) and Extra-Convex (FXC) version and with
many pre-cut openings or starter holes. The opening can be stretched
easiliy if necessary.
Extra-Convex flanges are to be used only for deeply retracted areas,
after consulting your stoma care nurse.
Combimate Convex flanges are available in the flange diameters
38 mm, 45 mm, 57 mm and 70 mm.
These wafers are fully compatible with the ConvaTec Natura
system. Pouches and wafers of these systems are matching.

COMBIMATE ADVANCE FLANGES
This product is
intended to be
applied to an
abdominal wall
with weak
musculature to
prevent bulging
etc etc.
The use of a
support belt
is advisable
in these
circumstances.
COMBIMATE Advance flanges are reinforced with strong polyester
fibers, and are designed mainly for people with a weak parastomal
musculature. The wafers are flexible and comfortable, but will help to
prevent bulging out of the skin area around the stoma. In many cases
it is advisable to wear a stoma support belt (see page 55).
COMBIMATE Advance flanges are moisture permeable and have a
Classic Hydrocolloid Stoma Adhesive of 1,5 mm thick with a high
absorption capacity and no added elastomers. For external support of
a larger skin surface where a parastomal hernia may be developing,
ADVANCE EXTRA LARGE flanges may be of help. The large adhesive
surface measures 15 x 15 cm. To prevent drying out or curling of the
edges, these can be picture framed with VARIMATE THIN strips
(VMT 0522).
COMBIMATE Advance flanges are available with flange diameters
38 mm, 45 mm, 57 mm and 70 mm. The Extra Large size wafers
have also 85 mm and 100 mm flanges.
From these 6 flange diameters, 5 are compatible with Convatec
Natura pouches (the ConvaTec range does not include 85 mm
flanges).

COMBIMATE XL FLANGES
SuperSoft XL flange 57 mm Advance XL flange 100 mm
The extra large COMBIMATE XL flanges are available in several
versions and for different applications.
COMBIMATE SuperSoft XL are designed specially to be used on
extremely bulging skin areas, such as a serious parastomal hernia.
If the flange is too rigid or too small, it is not easy to attach this
securely onto such a spherical surface. The stoma opening can be
cut to size and can be stretched for a good fit. The soft foam layer
will never cut into the stoma, not even when the adhesive layer has
melted down.
COMBIMATE Advance XL flanges are reinforced with polyester
fibres and specially designed to support the skin over a bulging
hernia. See product information on page 15.
All COMBIMATE SuperSoft XL flanges are compatible with
ConvaTec Natura pouches (except 85 mm flanges).

COMBIMATE 2-PIECE CLOSED POUCHES
All COMBIMATE closed pouches are provided with a bar filter that is
effective for 24 hours. A unique feature is the extra ‘rain coat’ layer
between the stoma and the filter, preventing blockage of the filter and
subsequent leakage and staining. This feature makes these pouches
ideal for people with liquid stool.

These flanges are extremely flexible, can be stretched up with the
stoma and have a large moist absorption capacity.
These flanges are available in flange sizes 40, 50 en 60 mm,
and are fully compatible with the pouches of the Coloplast
Assura and SenSura system.
Now Coloplast users can also benefit from these superb flanges.
Of course EuroTec also offers Fleximate pouches in various
models, that are compatible with Coloplast flanges (see page 31).
The FLEXIMATE flanges have no added synthetic rubbers but
contain much gelatin for an optimum moisture control, resulting in a
good skin condition. The extreme flexibility of the hydrocolloid barrier
results in good skin contact, even in retracted areas.
FLEXIMATE flanges are available with many pre-cut openings, that
can be stretched further. Cutting to size will hardly be necessary.
FLEXIMATE flanges have a long wear time, and resist the effects of
warm weather and perspiration.

FLEXIMATE SUPERFLEX FLANGES
FLEXIMATE SuperFlex flanges are in
fact smaller SuperSoft flanges, framed
by a round, flexible, breathable plaster.
The stoma opening can be easily
stretched to fit if it is too small. The foam
top layer will never damage the stoma,
even if the hydrocolloid has dissolved.
FLEXIMATE SuperFlex flanges are available in flange diameters
40 mm, 50 mm and 60 mm and these will match perfectly with
the Coloplast Assura and SenSura stoma pouches.

EuroTec convex flanges have no added synthetic rubber. In peristomal
areas the skin is often irritated and under these circumstances the
FLEXIMATE Convex flanges will perform really well. They also have a

a locking ring. The pouch should be gently clicked
onto the flange. The locking ring can then be
snapped closed and secured.

CONVEXRING CONVEX INSERTS
SuperSoft and SuperFlex flanges
are designed to accept the special
ConvexRing TM convex inserts,
available separately. The flexible
convex inserts give additional
support in a retracted skin area.
Remove the release liner from the
flange and replace it with a special
center slitted silicone release liner.
Press it onto the adhesive with the
shiny side.
Click the convex insert into the
flange, using both thumbs.
Follow the complete circumference
of the flange, securing a complete
snap.
The slits in the silicone release liner
and the flexibility of the SuperSoft
flange make this an easy procedure.
The plain flange has now been
converted into a convex shape.
The special slit silicone release
liner can be used several times,
so do not discard!

Convex flanges are a much easier option and are often
preferred to a flange into which a ConvexRing has to be fitted.
1. A plain flange can be cut to size easier than a ready to use convex
flange, due to the absence of the convex ring at the cutting stage.
2. You have a better selection in matching the diameter of the stoma
with the inner diameter of the convex ring, particularly with larger
and oval stomas.
3. Installing a convex ring yourself may reduce costs.
ConvexRing rings are available in 2 different grades of convexity:
Convex and Extra Convex. Available for flange diameters up to 70 mm
and suitable for stomas up to 55 mm. See the table below.
ATTENTION: The margin between the largest stoma diameter
and the opening of the convex ring needs to be at least 5 mm.
Extra convex rings should only be applied on the advice of a
stoma nurse.

A NEW GENERATION
1-PIECE POUCHES
The 1-piece Colomate, Ileomate
and Uromate SuperFlex pouches
are finished with a soft flexible
adhesive wafer. The plastic film
of the pouch is welded well
away from the aperture of the
pouch enabling the aperture to
be stretched and moulded to the
required shape and size.
The pouch will never cut into the
stoma, even if the hydrocolloid
has completely dissolved.
Superflex pouches are available with many pre-cut stoma openings.
These stoma openings can easily be stretched if they are slightly too
small. For a stoma diameter of 27 mm a size 25 mm can be selected
and stretched up by 2 mm. Cutting to size will rarely be necessary.
The stoma opening will also expand to allow for the passage of solid
stool. It is even possible for the adhesive to adapt to a retracted skin
area.
Almost all 1-piece COLOMATE, ILEOMATE and UROMATE pouches
will be phased in with the SuperFlex adhesive. It may take some time
before all sizes are available in a SuperFlex version. Pouches with an
oval adhesive wafer will not be available in a SuperFlex version.

CIRCLEMATE STOMA PLASTERS
CIRCLEMATE is the brand name of circular stoma plasters. They are
available in beige with a hypo-allergenic acrylic adhesive and in
white with a water-based solvent which is even more skin friendly.
The plasters help to improve the comfort and security of the pouch
and flange. Suitable for all brands of ostomy devices. CIRCLEMATE
plasters prevent the edges of the flange or pouch adhesive:
- from lifting and possibly leaking.
- drying out and becoming rigid.

ELASTOMATE SUPPORT BELTS
ELASTOMATE support belts are made of high grade, solid elastic
material for maximum comfort. The opening is reinforced with a plastic
rim. These support belts are available in three different widths: 10 cm,
15 cm and 23 cm and different lengths, adjustable with a Velcro closure.
All support belts are available with an aperture of 60 mm or 72 mm.
The 15 and 23 cm wide belts also come with an opening of 83 mm.
The 10 and 15 cm wide belts can be used for left and right sided
stomas. The 23 cm hernia belts are available in either a left or right
sided version, depending on the position of the stoma.
Indications:
The 10 cm wide belt is primarily intended for:
Additional support for the pouch.
Providing additional support and pressure around retracted stomas.
Supporting weak abdominal musculature directly around the stoma.
As an option, all belts can be fitted with a ‘prolapse flap’ - an elastic
strip which can be stretched over the stoma to give counter pressure,
and additional support. This option is particularly useful during
sporting activities or when lifting heavy items.

VARIMATE THIN STRIPS
If the edges of the flange dry out and become rough and hard, they
may cause irritation of the skin. Alternatively, the adhesive layer may
‘bleed’ or ‘flow’ in the presence of heat and moisture, causing the
edges to stick to the pouch. Occasionally, when bathing or swimming,
the edges may even become moist. This problem may also occur
with 1-piece ostomy pouches and this can be prevented with special
circular CIRCLEMATE plasters, available in many sizes. See page
63. Although these are very skin friendly, they can - like all plasters -
cause irritation when used on sensitive skin. In which case it is
preferable to use the ultra thin VARIMATE THIN hydrocolloid strips,
which are 5 times thinner than the hydrocolloid of the flange.
The material absorbs a lot of moisture, fits well, is breathable and
water resistant.

leakage?
VARIMATE WEDGES
If the stool or urine is undermining
both sides of the flange, this may
be due to skin folds around the
stoma. These skin folds can be
filled with pieces of double sided
adhesive hydrocolloid in the form
of a wedge. The wide side of the
wedges can be placed in the fold,
nearest the stoma, while the
point of the wedge is away from
the stoma. For deeper folds,
multiple wedges can be applied
on top of each other, with the
smallest applied first. Because
the cutting of wedges is a difficult
and time-consuming job for
many people, EuroTec offers
ready made VARIMATE wedges
in two sizes:

VARIMATE RESIST
VARIMATE RESIST double-sided adhesive washers are an excellent
alternative to traditional stoma paste from a tube. They can be
moulded with the fingers, stretched and remodeled. They will always
remain sticky! VARIMATE RESIST is highly resistant against urine
and liquid stool. VARIMATE RESIST can be stretched to fit well
around the stoma. The flange or pouch can then be applied over it.
The material is also very suitable to
fill small skin folds (as paste strips) or
larger folds and scars (VARIMATE
EYE). VARIMATE RESIST contains a
small amount of synthetic elastomers.
VARIMATE RESIST can easily be
stretched to twice the size retaining
its shape.

VARIMATE DUO
VARIMATE DUO double sided adhesive wafers are made from optimally
absorbing Classic Stoma Adhesive without the addition of synthetic
rubbers (elastomers). VARIMATE double sided adhesive wafers are
not sterilized, but they have been manufactured under strict conditions
in a classified clean room, and laminated under high temperature with
a hermetically sealed silicone release paper.
VARIMATE DUO is particularly useful as a filler for creases and
uneven skin surfaces around stomas and fistulae and where there is
scarring for example. It can be used to create a level platform on the
skin to which a collection device can be attached. VARIMATE DUO is
available in many versions and can easily be cut to size.

The founders and managers of EuroTec were previously involved in
establishing ConvaTec in the Netherlands. Later they founded the
stoma-specialist company CombiCare, where they supplied stoma
products and managed the care of more than 10,000 people with a
stoma. This experience in product development and patient care has
been invested in EuroTec to enable you to benefit.

products, many of which can be combined
with other brands. Problems with a failing

Customisation
In very difficult cases EuroTec can quickly
respond and even manufacture customised
products. A modified pouch model or
another type of adhesive. We can often
offer solutions within days.
