Carpediem

En el colegio no le gustaba relacionarse con nadie
y no tenía amigos con los que jugar y pasarlo bien.
Su profesora Sarah intentaba cada día hacerle
disfrutar, por eso cada mañana le preguntaba;
PROFESORA: ¿Dora, quieres ponerte hoy con
María y trabajar juntas?
(Pero ella respondía siempre)
DORA:¡No, no y no, ni hablar, yo quiero estar sola!

At school she didn’t like to be in touch with anyone
and she had no friends to play with or have a good
time.
Her teacher Sarah tried to make her enjoy and
that’s why she asked Dora every morning:
TEACHER: Dora, would you like to join Mary and
work together?
(But she always said)
DORA: No, no and no! I want to be alone!!!

En casa, las peleas eran constantes, sus padres
sufrían mucho y su madre lloraba cada noche, pero
a ella parecía no importarle y nunca les demostraba
cariño.
Su madre después de llorar su madre le decía
siempre;
MADRE: Dora ¿Hasta cuándo vas a estar
enfadada con el mundo? Yo voy a ayudarte, vamos
a hacerlo juntas, ya verás…
(ella miraba con odio y decía)
DORA:¿Por qué eres tan pesada? ¡Olvídame y
déjame en paz!

At home, the arguments were very frequent, her
parents suffer a lot and her mummy cried every
night but it didn’t mind her and she never shew
affection.
After crying, her mother always told her.
MUMMY: Until when are you going to be angry with
the world? I can help you, we’ll do it together, you’ll
smile…
(She looks at her with hatred)
DORA: Why are you such a pain in the neck?
Forget me and leave me alone!!!

Un día, a través de la clase de ciencias, la
profesora decidió ir de excursión al parque natural
“El Perdón” y aunque Jade nunca participaba en
estas actividades de convivencia, decidió ir porque
le encantaba la naturaleza y el día de antes,
levantó la mano en clase y dijo:
DORA: ¿Qué debo preparar en mi mochila?
La profesora y la clase entera quedaron
asombradas y pensaron
CLASE:¡“Ha mostrado interés por algo, es
increíble”!

One day, in the science class the teacher decided
to go on a trip to ‘Perdon’s natural Park’ and
although Dora never participated in these activities
for coexistence, she decided to go because she
loved nature and the previous day she handed up
in class and asked:
DORA: What things do I have to include in my bag?
The teacher and the whole class were impressed
and thought:
CLASS: She has shown interest about something,
it’s incredible!!

Al día siguiente, desde que montaron en el autobús,
Maren , una compañera alegre y divertida, se sentó
detrás de Dora e intentó animarla y hacerse su
amiga;
MAREN:¿Quieres un trocito de mi manzana para
almorzar? Seguro que lo pasaremos bien;¿quieres
que vayamos juntas?
Pero Dora ni se molestó en mirarla,
(con cara de asco)
DORA: “No quiero nada de nadie y menos tuyo,
déjame sola y vete”.
(PASAR A LA LÁMINA SIGUIENTE)

The next day, since they were in the bus, her
classmate Maren who was cheerful and funny sat
down behind Dora and tried to cheer her up:
MAREN: Would you like some apple? I’m sure
we’ll enjoy if we go together, would you like?
But Dora without looking back,
(with a face of hate)
DORA: No I won’t. I don’t want anything from
anyone and nothing from you so leave me alone!!

Ya en el parque, todos los niños, incluida Maren, la
dejaron sola y riendo ya cansados de su actitud le
dijeron a Dora;
COMPAÑEROS: ¿Te lo pasas bien sola?
(JAJAJA!!! Haciéndole burla),
“Pues es lo que te mereces”
Llegaron a una división del camino y Dora contestó:
DORA: ¡A pasároslo bien, iros a vuestra casa que
aunque os riais no os necesito!
Y corrió a separarse de los demás por el camino
equivocado

Then in the park, all the children included Maren,
leave Dora alone because they were tired about
her attitude and they laugh at her
CLASSMATES: Do you enjoy alone? Ha ha ha!!!
(Laughing at her)
So, this is what serves you right!!!
They arrived at a path’s division and Dora said,
DORA: To enjoy, go home and although you laugh
at me, I don’t need you!!
She ran away from her classmates to the wrong
way.

Pero… pasados diez minutos, empezó a ponerse
algo nerviosa porque se había perdido y de
repente, con una piedra tropezó y a un oscuro y
profundo pozo cayó. En el suelo quedó tendida e
incluso perdió el conocimiento.

But…after ten minutes she started to be a little bit
nervous because she was lost and suddenly, she
tripped over a rock and she fell down into a deep
and dark well. She was lying on the floor and she
lost the consciousness

Pasada media hora abrió los ojos en la oscuridad y
un gran silencio invadió su mente y su corazón,
entonces pensó;
DORA (Pensamiento):“Dios mío ¿y si nadie me
encuentra?, ¿Quién me echaría de menos?, ¿Qué
he hecho yo en mi vida para ayudar a los demás?,
¿Por qué no soy feliz?
Sintió una tristeza enorme y recordó que jamás
había hecho reír a nadie, nunca les había ayudado
y no sabía lo que era sentirse útil con los demás.
(gritar con fuerza)
DORA:¡Socorro!,
Pero nadie le oía.

After midnight she opened her eyes in the
darkness and a total silence invaded her mind and
heart, so she thought.
DORA’S THOUGHT: Oh my God, if no one can
find me, who will miss me? What have I done in my
life to help people? Why I am not happy?
She felt an enormous sadness and she
remembered that she had never make anyone
laugh, never helped them and she didn’t know
what ‘being useful’ meant!!!
(Shouting)
DORA: Help, help me please!
But nobody could hear it.

Cuando terminó el día, todos volvieron al autobús y
cuando contaron a los niños y vieron que faltaba
Dora, se preocuparon muchísimo. La profesora
llamó a la familia. Su madre comenzó a llorar;
MADRE: ¡Oh no, pobre Dora!!! ¡Enseguida estaré
allí!!!
(PASAR A LA LÁMINA SIGUIENTE)

When the day finished all the children came back to
the school bus and when the teacher count them
they noticed that Dora was missing so they worried
a lot and they immediately called her mummy who
started to cry;
MUMMY: Oh no, poor Dora!! I will be there in few
minutes!!!

Ya por la noche la policía comenzó un plan de
búsqueda.
Tardaron todo un día entero en encontrar el pozo y
mientras tanto, Dora, temblaba de frío. Pero
sobretodo le dolía el corazón, de pensar que quizás
había perdido a todas esas personas que le
querían de verdad y gritó;
DORA: Por favor, Dios mío sálvame; que si tú me
salvas yo prometo salvarme a mí misma también.

At night the police started an operation to find Dora.
They took a whole day to find the well, while Dora
was shivering and her heart was in pain because
she thought that maybe she had lost all the people
who really loved her and she shouted;
DORA: Oh my God, save me please; if you save
me, I promise I will save myself too!!!
(GO TO THE NEXT SHEET)

Cuando la sacaron, en vez de llorar, cogió la mano
de su madre;
DORA: Mamá, deja que te sonría cada día de mi
vida, perdóname por no haberlo descubierto antes,
¡Te quiero un montón!
Su madre, llorando de alegría, la abrazó muy fuerte;
MADRE:¿Perdón por no haber descubierto el qué?
Pero ella no respondió.

When they rescued Dora, instead of crying she
took the hand of her mother;
DORA: Mummy, let me smile to you every day of
my life, apologize to me because I didn’t discover it
before!! I LOVE YOU!!!
Her mummy crying of happiness, hugged her;
MUMMY: What are you referring to when you said
you didn’t discover it? What is it?
But she didn’t answered

Al día siguiente, en el salón de actos del colegio, le
hicieron una bienvenida y ella se acercó al
escenario y dijo;
DORA: Os pido perdón a todos por no haber
descubierto antes lo afortunada que soy en la vida
por teneros a todos. He aprendido que…
- HAY QUE CONSERVAR Y VALORAR LO QUE
TIENES,
-OLVIDAR LO QUE TE DUELE,
-LUCHAR POR LO QUE QUIERES,
-Y DISFRUTAR A LOS QUE TE AMAN…
En definitiva, no debemos esperar en la vida a que
pase algo, porque lo único que pasa es la vida.
Y…Por todo eso, os digo a todos:
DISFRUTAR DE CADA MOMENTO, SONREÍD
CADA MAÑANA Y CARPEDIEM!!!!!
The next day in the school’s assembly room,
everybody made Dora a WELCOME PARTY and
she went up to the stage and said;
DORA: I say all of you sorry because I haven’t
discovered before how lucky I am in my life for
having you. I’ve learnt that:
- WE HAVE TO PRESERVE AND VALUE WHAT
WE HAVE,
- FORGET WHAT HURTS US
- FIGHT FOR WHAT YOU LIKE
- AND ENJOY WHO LOVE YOU…
We mustn’t wait in life for something because what
really pass is the life, so for these reasons I tell all
of you:
ENJOY EACH MOMENT, SMILE EVERY
MORNING AND CARPEDIEM!!!!

Hace muchos años, en un pueblecito pequeño
cerca de la ciudad, vivía una niña llamada Dora que
jamás sonreía, sólo el enfado, la rabia y el odio
cabían en su interior.
Siempre tenía la palabra “NO” en su mente para
todo tipo de situación sin motivo aparente y
además era muy intransigente con los demás.

Many years ago, a girl called Dora lived in a small
village near the city. She never laughed or smiled,
only the arguments, the fury and the hatred were
inside her.
She had always the word ‘NO’ in mind for all type of
situations without any reason and she was very
inflexible with everybody.
