property at 501 NC 54 in the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Carrboro</strong>.<br />

Upon arrival, I spoke to the reporting person, Ms Sabrina Caudle. Ms Caudle said<br />

something prompted her to look out her window at approximately 0100 on<br />

05/03/2013. She saw what she believed to be her ex-husband walking away from<br />

the PVA near her apartment. Ms Caudle went to her vehicle and noticed the word<br />

"DIE" carved into the right side <strong>of</strong> the car. Ms Caudle also noticed slash marks cut<br />

into the driver`s side rear tire. The cuts are apparent. The tire was not flattened.<br />

A report was made and a case reference card was given. Pictures were taken and<br />

are attached to this report. Ms Caudle was referred to a magistrate concerning the<br />

threat. Nothing further at this time.<br />

I responded to 200 NC 54 (The Crest) reference to damage to a privacy fence<br />

around a dumpster across from the N building. Upon my arrival I began speaking<br />

with Natasha Wilson, who advised sometime during the night someone spray<br />

painted a privacy fence on the property. After speaking with Ms. Wilson I<br />

proceeded to the N building where I observed a Chipmunk with wings spray<br />

painted on the fence around the dumpster. It appeared the suspect(s) used a stencil<br />

to paint the character on the fence. A photograph was taken <strong>of</strong> the damage and no<br />

further action was taken at this time.<br />

I responded to 200 NC 54 (The Crest) reference to the structure that holds the<br />

mailboxes was spray painted during the night. Upon my arrival Ms. Wilson<br />

advised the mail person came to her <strong>of</strong>fice and advised her someone had spray<br />

painted a picture <strong>of</strong> a Chipmunk on the wall where the mailboxes are housed. It<br />

appeared the suspect(s) used a stencil to paint the character on the wall. A<br />

photograph was taken <strong>of</strong> the painting and no further action was taken at this time.<br />

Reported: 05/03/2013.<br />

I responded to 501 Jones Ferry Rd. (#O-10) reference to a break-in. Upon my<br />

arrival I began speaking with the complainant (Ryan Spangler) and he advised he<br />

left his residence around 1230 hrs. this date. When he returned around 1530 hrs. he<br />

found the front door had been forced open. Mr. Spangler further advised after<br />

checking the residence he was unable to find anything missing at this time. I<br />

advised Mr. Spangler if he found anything missing to call the <strong>Police</strong> <strong>Department</strong><br />

so it could be added to the report.<br />

23:10, 05/03/2013 and 23:11, 05/03/2013. Reported: 05/03/2013.<br />

I was patrolling the area <strong>of</strong> West Main Street traveling east. I observed a vehicle<br />

parked in the bike lane in front <strong>of</strong> 609 W Main Street with it`s flashers on. I<br />

notified communications that I would be out with a green colored Saturn sedan<br />

and unknown occupants. As I was checking the vehicle for passengers, I noticed<br />

an open 40oz alcoholic beverage on top <strong>of</strong> the center console (the beverage was<br />

still cold). I then saw Caleb Hill and Michael Atwater walking west on West Main<br />

Street toward my location. Hill was carrying a red colored gas can. Hill advised<br />

that the vehicle was his and he had run out <strong>of</strong> gas. At that time Lieutenant<br />

Westbrook notified me that the registration plate on Hill`s vehicle was expired and<br />
