Bulletin From 05/03/2013 00:00:00 To 05/05/2013 23:59:59 Page #: 2 Case # Description (A)ttempted, (C)ompleted, (F)elony, (M)isdemeanor Officer property at 501 NC 54 in the Town of Carrboro. Upon arrival, I spoke to the reporting person, Ms Sabrina Caudle. Ms Caudle said something prompted her to look out her window at approximately 0100 on 05/03/2013. She saw what she believed to be her ex-husband walking away from the PVA near her apartment. Ms Caudle went to her vehicle and noticed the word "DIE" carved into the right side of the car. Ms Caudle also noticed slash marks cut into the driver`s side rear tire. The cuts are apparent. The tire was not flattened. A report was made and a case reference card was given. Pictures were taken and are attached to this report. Ms Caudle was referred to a magistrate concerning the threat. Nothing further at this time. LW 1306774 The Crest VICTIM of Injury To Real Property (C), at 200 Nc 54, Carrboro, NC, Injury To Real between 18:00, 05/02/2013 and 10:15, 05/03/2013. Reported: 05/03/2013. Property I responded to 200 NC 54 (The Crest) reference to damage to a privacy fence around a dumpster across from the N building. Upon my arrival I began speaking with Natasha Wilson, who advised sometime during the night someone spray painted a privacy fence on the property. After speaking with Ms. Wilson I proceeded to the N building where I observed a Chipmunk with wings spray painted on the fence around the dumpster. It appeared the suspect(s) used a stencil to paint the character on the fence. A photograph was taken of the damage and no further action was taken at this time. LW 1306786 The Crest VICTIM of Injury To Real Property (C), at 200 Nc 54, Carrboro, NC, Injury To Real between 18:00, 05/02/2013 and 14:25, 05/03/2013. Reported: 05/03/2013. Property I responded to 200 NC 54 (The Crest) reference to the structure that holds the mailboxes was spray painted during the night. Upon my arrival Ms. Wilson advised the mail person came to her office and advised her someone had spray painted a picture of a Chipmunk on the wall where the mailboxes are housed. It appeared the suspect(s) used a stencil to paint the character on the wall. A photograph was taken of the painting and no further action was taken at this time. LW 1306787 Spangler, Ryan Dillan (W M, 22) VICTIM of Breaking Or Entering (C), at 501 Jones Breaking Or Entering Ferry Rd, Carrboro, NC, between 12:30, 05/03/2013 and 15:30, 05/03/2013. Reported: 05/03/2013. I responded to 501 Jones Ferry Rd. (#O-10) reference to a break-in. Upon my arrival I began speaking with the complainant (Ryan Spangler) and he advised he left his residence around 1230 hrs. this date. When he returned around 1530 hrs. he found the front door had been forced open. Mr. Spangler further advised after checking the residence he was unable to find anything missing at this time. I advised Mr. Spangler if he found anything missing to call the Police Department so it could be added to the report. LW 1306800 Society VICTIM of Possess Stolen Goods (C), at W Main St, Carrboro, NC, between Possess Stolen 23:10, 05/03/2013 and 23:11, 05/03/2013. Reported: 05/03/2013. Goods I was patrolling the area of West Main Street traveling east. I observed a vehicle parked in the bike lane in front of 609 W Main Street with it`s flashers on. I notified communications that I would be out with a green colored Saturn sedan and unknown occupants. As I was checking the vehicle for passengers, I noticed an open 40oz alcoholic beverage on top of the center console (the beverage was still cold). I then saw Caleb Hill and Michael Atwater walking west on West Main Street toward my location. Hill was carrying a red colored gas can. Hill advised that the vehicle was his and he had run out of gas. I asked Hill for a driver`s license and he said he only had his passport. I asked Hill if he was driving, Hill said he was driving earlier. I asked Hill about the alcoholic beverage and he advised it belonged to him. Officer Armstrong arrived on scene to assist. I noticed that the registration plate had a 2013 blue colored registration sticker but the section where the plate number is printed was ripped off. The registration plate had been expired since 03/2012. Hill was not cooperative and stated that he did not know anything about the registration sticker. Officer Reinas was requested to assist on utilizing K9 Allie to walk around the vehicle. Officer Reinas asked Hill and Atwater to stand in front of my patrol vehicle. While Officer Reinas had K9 Allie walk around the vehicle, I was sitting in my patrol vehicle and I could see Hill`s left hand messing with his left pants pocket. It appeared like he was taking something out and then he was moving his legs. I got out and checked under the front of my patrol vehicle and I found a blue colored smoking pipe device behind Hill`s feet. I asked Hill about the smoking pipe and he denied it was his. Hill finally admitted the smoking pipe belonged to him. The vehicle keys were in his possession. I issued Hill citations and the registration plate was siezed and his vehicle was towed by Claytons Wrecker Service. Hill then left the area without any incident. Hill was uncooperative through the whole process. LW 1306802 Claudio Ruiz, Rosa Maria (W F, 47) VICTIM of Domestic Dispute (C), at 404 Jones Domestic Dispute Ferry Rd, Carrboro, NC, between 23:50, 05/03/2013 and 23:50, 05/03/2013. Reported: 05/03/2013. I responded to 404 Jones Ferry Rd in reference to a Domestic Dispute. LW 1306804 RESTRICTED VICTIM of Assault On A Female (C), at 100 Hill St, Carrboro, NC, Assault On A between 01:15, 05/04/2013 and 01:15, 05/04/2013. Reported: 05/04/2013. Female I was dispatched to Broad Street in regards to a possible assault. Upon arrival the complainant advised that she was assaulted by a black male. LW 1306805 Fitch Lumber Company VICTIM of Open Gate, at 309 N Greensboro St, Carrboro, Open Gate NC, between 01:33, 05/04/2013 and 01:34, 05/04/2013. Reported: 05/04/2013. Officers received a call in reference to an alarm at 309 North Greensboro Street. Upon arriving on scene I noticed the gate to the right of the main building was unsecured. Officer Armstrong and I went inside the fenced area and checked the surrounding buildings. All the buildings appeared secure and there were no signs of forced entry. I was able to secure the gate. Domestic Dispute Club Rd, Carrboro, NC, between 03:33, 05/04/2013 and 03:33, 05/04/2013. Reported: 05/04/2013. *LW30051* I responded to 140 BPW Club Rd in reference to a Domestic Dispute. LW 1306817 Panzanella VICTIM of Breaking Or Entering (C), at 200 N Greensboro St, Carrboro, Breaking Or NC, between 22:00, 05/03/2013 and 07:37, 05/04/2013. Reported: 05/04/2013. Entering Suspect(s) broke the side glass entry door of Panzanella with what appeared to be a beer bottle to gain entry into Carr Mill Mall. After entering Carr Mill Mall suspect(s) broke the glass front door of The Bead Shop to gain entry. While inside The Bead Shop suspect(s) destroyed the cash register in an attempt to gain assess to the money. The scene was photographed and processed for evidence.
