Dear Mu’mins!
Our hutbe is about the importance of sincere
deeds to save imaan.
Sincere (Salih) deeds strengthen, consolidate
and save imaan. Sincere deed, meanly Amel-i
Salih, was ordered more than ninety times
directly or indirectly in Quran Azimusshan.
The ayahs which sincere deed was quoted in
usually start with imaan firstly. Those are
usually beginning like “Those who believe and
make sincere deed”. This mentions that faith
(imaan) and deed (amel) are the inseparable
parts of a whole. Allah (swt) says in Holy
Quran: “And as for those who believe and
do good works, we shall remit from them
their evil deeds and shall repay them the
best that they did” (Ankebut 7)
“And give glad tidings (O Muhammad)
unto those who believe and do good
works; that theirs are Gardens underneath
which rivers flow” (Bakara 25)
In the holy month of Ramadan which is the
month of Prophet Muhammeds ummah, we
must try our best to make sincere deeds
because in this month, farz sawaab is given
to nafilah ibadahs, and 70 times more sewaab
is given to farz ibadahs.
Imaan (faith) is a candle, a noor which Allah
(swt) fired into mu’min’s heart. Guarding
castles and frames of this are sincere deeds,
farz, vajeeb, sunnah, mustehab, mendub and
nafilah. Iman is guarded by framing and
taking them in a castle with these worships.
Whoever leaves farz, vajeeb, sunnah, he
can’t save his imaan easily. Imam-ı Rabbani
(rh) says the following: “To say “my heart is
clean” without making sincere deeds is
senseless. It is cheating himself.” (39 th Letter)
Dear Muslims!
Our sincere deeds will protect us from all
dangers and pests after death.
Rasulullah (sav) says by telling his dream: “I
saw strange things in my dream. Torture
angels had caught one of my ummah.
Ablutions he had got rescued him from his
trouble. I saw one, his grave was squeezing
him. The prayers he had prayed rescued him
from grave torture. Evils had been pestering
someone. His Zikrs came and rescued him
from Sheytan. Someone’s tongue had been
hanging out because of thirst. His Ramadan
fastings came and quenched his thirst.
Gloom surrounded someone. His Haj took
him away from dark. Death angel had come
to someone. His favors to his parents came,
prevent his death, delayed it. Someone
wasn’t being communicated with muslims. His
visits to relatives came, interceded to him and
talk to them who didn’t let him to talk to
muslims. They were preventing someone to
go to next to his prophet. His Gusul took him
and brought next to me. To someone who
wanted to defend himself from fire, his
Sadaqa came and became a curtain to the
fire. While Zebaanees were taking someone
to the Jahannam, his Emr-i Ma’ruf and Nehy-i
Munker rescued him. Someone was thrown to
the fire. His tears he weeped because of the
fear of Allah rescued him from there.
While someone’s book was being given from
his left side, his fear from Allah turned it to the
right side. Someone’s children who died
before him came and make his sawaabs
heavier whose sawaabs were light before. To
someone who was thrilling near the
Jahannam because of fear, his good feeling
to Allah (swt) came and his thrilling stopped.
Someone who hardly passed Sıraat came to
Jannah. But the gates were closed. His
Kelime-i Shehadeh came and put him into the
Jannah.” (Tirmizi)
I would like to finish hutbah with the meaning
of Sure-i Asr: “By the declining day, Lo!
man is a state of loss, Save those who
believe and do good works, and exhort
one another to truth and exhort one
another to endurance” (Asr 1-3)
