Roanne Cairel was passionate and active,<br />
and when she was diagnosed with stage<br />
III colon cancer at just 19 years old, she<br />
was determined to fight. Despite<br />
Roanne’s bright spirit, she lost her<br />
battle after five years. In commemoration<br />
of Roanne, her friends and family hosted<br />
<strong>the</strong> inaugural Roanne’s Race 5K/10K in<br />
In November, Roanne’s friends and family joined at<br />
Robertson Park in Livermore, California to honor <strong>the</strong>ir hero.<br />
November, where nearly 300 people ran and raised $8,500 to support<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>Colon</strong> <strong>Cancer</strong> <strong>Alliance</strong>’s research initiatives. Specifically, this donation<br />
is helping educate healthcare providers about <strong>the</strong> need to better<br />
diagnose colon cancer in individuals under 50 years old.<br />
