* Aesthetically & functionally compatible with<br />
existing structures & land;

The cost and expense <strong>of</strong> maintenance that are the<br />
responsibilities <strong>of</strong> canal maintenance assessment<br />
districts include:<br />
* Remove anything impeding flow <strong>of</strong> water or<br />
navigation from canals.<br />
* Maintain berm to proper height by placing fill on<br />
water side <strong>of</strong> seawall whenever necessary.<br />
* Repair, remove or replace deteriorating seawalls;<br />
Protect abutting & adjoining properties.

Responsibility <strong>of</strong> property owners and tenants within<br />
the canal maintenance district to provide proper &<br />
safe maintenance <strong>of</strong> appurtenances as they may affect<br />
the condition <strong>of</strong> seawalls and canals, and specifically<br />
the following:<br />
* Water side <strong>of</strong> seawalls: maintenance <strong>of</strong> davits,<br />
hoisting or launching devises, docks, pilings,<br />
dock lights, water & power lines, boats and all<br />
other equipment.<br />
* Dredging, except in navigable channels.

a) Refrain from any act endangering integrity <strong>of</strong><br />
seawalls, tie-rods or deadman. Objects or<br />
structures attached to or resting on or against the<br />
seawall or cap are prohibited, including cleats or<br />
anchors. Tie-<strong>of</strong>f anchors or any other structures<br />
must be placed 6’ or more landward <strong>of</strong> seawall.
