Maloji Raje and Vithoji Raje -the <strong>Brave</strong> <strong>Maratha</strong> <strong>Sardars</strong><br />
On recommendation of Vazir Malik Amber,Nizamshah Conferred<br />
Jagir of Pune and Supe Parganas to maloji Raje.<br />
Umabai who came from Nimbalkar family was married to<br />
Maloji Raje. <strong>The</strong>y had two sons-Shahaji and Sharifji.<br />
When Shahaji was only five years old, Maloji Raje was killed in<br />
the battle at Indapur. Afterwards Vithoji Raje looked after the<br />
children and Jagir.<br />
Shahaji got married with Jijabai,the daughter of Lakhujirao<br />
Jadhav.<br />
Nijamshah transferred the Jagir of Maloji Raje to Shahaji<br />
Raje.<br />

and Adilshah<br />

the death of Malik<br />
Amber his son<br />
Fattekhan became<br />
the Vazir of<br />
Nizamshah.<br />

Battle took place<br />
at Bhatawadi<br />
near<br />
Ahmednagar.<br />
So Shahaji Raje left<br />
Nijamshahi and<br />
joined Adilshahi at<br />
Bijapur.<br />
At this time of<br />
Nizamshahi's<br />
decline, the<br />
Moghul threat<br />
increased.<br />
Malik Amber<br />
and Shahaji Raje<br />
fought bravely<br />
but Sharafji was<br />
killed in it.<br />
As Shahaji Raje's<br />
reputation was<br />
very much<br />
enhanced in<br />
court,Malik Amber<br />
was jealous of him.<br />
Hence, Nizamshah's<br />
mother appealed<br />
Shahaji Raje to return<br />
back.<br />
So Shahaji Raje<br />
returned back to<br />
Nizamshahi from<br />
Adilshahi.
