<strong>Simufact</strong> <strong>Engineering</strong> has founded subsidiary in India<br />

Hamburg based software company intensifies its involvement in the Indian market<br />

Hamburg, Germany, February 21, 2013 – The Hamburg based software company <strong>Simufact</strong><br />

<strong>Engineering</strong> has founded the Indian subsidiary <strong>Simufact</strong> India Private Limited. Dr. Gabriel<br />

Mc Bain (38) has been appointed as Director of <strong>Simufact</strong> India. The registered office of the<br />

new company is the city of Bangalore, in which leading complement suppliers and<br />

aerospace companies are based.<br />

With its software solutions, <strong>Simufact</strong> primarily aims at metalworking and -processing<br />

companies, among these the automotive and aerospace industry, but also at plant and<br />

mechanical engineering companies and sector-related suppliers. This software simulates<br />

forming, welding and mechanical forming processes and supports companies to design and<br />

optimize their production processes quicker. By virtual testing, companies save valuable<br />

production resources and simultaneously reduce the time needed to release innovative<br />

production processes for serial production. In this area <strong>Simufact</strong> ranks among the leading<br />

companies.<br />

For several years, <strong>Simufact</strong> has been successfully operating on the Indian market. In close<br />

cooperation with its reseller partner Partner Kadkraft Systems Pvt. Ltd., based in the northwestern<br />

city of Chandigarh, <strong>Simufact</strong> has already been able to acquire a number of<br />

renowned Indian customers for its software applications. The customer base includes,<br />

among others, L&T Special steels and heavy forgings, Shivam Autotech and Ramsays<br />

Corporation<br />

“The metalworking industry in India expands very dynamically”, says Michael Wohlmuth,<br />

Managing Director and CEO of simufact engineering gmbh. “This is why the Indian Machine<br />

Tool Manufacturers’ Association anticipates double-digit growth rates in the next years,<br />

mostly by the benefits of the booming automotive industry in India. In these premises, we will<br />

continue to expand our activities in India beyond the foundation of an own subsidiary.”<br />

Gabriel Mc Bain, Director of <strong>Simufact</strong> India, adds: “The primary task of <strong>Simufact</strong> India is<br />

currently to offer our customers a comprehensive technical service; we do not only help to<br />

introduce our software on-site, we also provide engineering support and train the users far<br />

beyond the application of our software products in questions of production technology. Our<br />

reseller partner Kadkraft will further cooperate with us in Indian sales activities.”<br />

Gabriel Mc Bain – a portrait<br />

To his new task, Gabriel Mc Bain (38) contributes years of scientific and industrial<br />

experience in forming technology. After graduating in metallurgy and materials engineering<br />

from RWTH in Aachen, he worked there as a research employee in several research<br />

projects on incremental forming technology and bulk metal forming at the institute of Metal<br />

Forming for more than five years. In 2009 he obtained the doctorate with a thesis on<br />

numerical modeling of innovative bulk metal forming processes. Gabriel Mc Bain has gained<br />

his industrial experience as a project manager of acut Aachener Umformtechnik <strong>GmbH</strong> and<br />

at <strong>Simufact</strong> since 2010.<br />
