External Document Type Definition<br />

The external DTD is a DTD that isn’t included in an <strong>XML</strong> document. Instead, it’s<br />

placed in its own file that has a .dtd file extension. An external DTD can be shared<br />

by any <strong>XML</strong> document if you reference the DTD at the beginning of the <strong>XML</strong><br />

document.<br />
