TTX Disturbance Node
Reproducible Failure Injection for FlexRay
TTX Disturbance Node makes it possible to
recognize weaknesses in system reliability
through specific failure injection. The device
allows developers and test engineers to
analyze the robustness of the FlexRay TM
network, the effects of network disturbances
on the behaviour of the system, and the error
tolerance of systems.
Failure Injection into the Global Network
TTX Disturbance Node enables failure injection into
the global network, or, by optionally splitting the
network, allows failure injection into subnetworks,
as required. Errors can be configured to be
synchronous or asynchronous to the FlexRay
schedule. The XML-based definition of test
cases makes it possible to inject complex and
reproducible errors.
The device encompasses an extensive number of
error classes, and is therefore suited for testing the
physical communication layer and for validating the
communication software as well as the network
layer. The device can be used to effectively test
the stability and the behavior of the physical
FlexRay configuration under extreme conditions.
KEY FEATURES/BENEFITS
Synchronous and asynchronous
disturbances
Global and local disturbances
Disturbances on channel A and/or
channel B
Configurable, triggerable disturbances
(incl. 60 test cases)
Termination resistor and short-circuit tests
Sending of disturbed frames
Can be automated
Innovative Features
TTX Disturbance Node offers numerous trigger
options and makes it possible to change the
temporal behavior of the FlexRay network, as well
as to generate valid and invalid frames.
Configuration: Graphical User Interface
TTX Disturbance Node comes with TTX Disturb,
A PC-based software with a graphical user
interface for configuration and control of the
device. TTX Disturbance Node supports import of
configuration requirements from a FIBEX file and
manual configuration of FlexRay parameters.
In addition to downloading of specific test cases,
TTX Disturb allows management of several test
case files. The tool can operate in batch mode for
test automation.
Hardware
Examination of the behavior of the application
in the presence of disturbances
TTX Disturbance Node is invisible to the network
unless activated
Analysis of disturbance effects on signal shape
(using oscilloscope)
Support of several bit rates
(2.5, 5 and 10 Mbit/s)
Interfaces
FlexRay interface based on the FlexRay
communication controller Freescale MFR4310
User-configurable disturbances on one or both
FlexRay channels
RS232 interface for loading the configuration
data and the fault scenario – conversion to
USB possible
BNC socket for trigger input and trigger output
and power supply
Real-time connection to any oscilloscope via
external trigger line for parallel physical and
protocol analysis
