On behalf of the Board of Directors of tri-
Pride, I would like to welcome everybody
to tri-Pride 2013!
This year promises to be our biggest and
best festival to date, with more than three
blocks of downtown Kitchener closed off
for us and three stages of entertainment.
The board of directors have worked harder
than ever this year to bring you a Pride
celebration that I am sure you will be
proud to call you own.
Our theme this year is “One Heart One
Community.” I feel this theme is more
important than ever, especially as the
LGBTQ community becomes more integrated
with mainstream society. It is important
for us to gather as a community to
celebrate our struggles and our triumphs,
as well as our rich heritage. The LGBT community
in the Waterloo Region has a lot to
be proud of, and Pride day is one day of
the year we can all gather to show it!
As we come together,
I ask that everyone
take the time to hang
out with good friends,
re-unite with old ones,
DANIEL WIEBE
and perhaps make a
few new ones. I also ask that while we
get together to celebrate all that this
community has accomplished, we also
take the time to remember those who
fought so hard for the rights we have
today. That is what Pride is all about.
I would like to thank our many Volunteers,
Sponsors, Supports, Friends, and
Allies for all coming together to make
tri-Pride happen. It is this community
that supports us and allows us to run
this great festival each year.
