documents and materials made available to, bel<strong>on</strong>ging to, or used by <strong>the</strong>m, wherever<br />

located in <strong>the</strong> Kingdom <strong>of</strong> Cambodia and by whomsoever held, shall be inviolable for<br />

<strong>the</strong> durati<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> proceedings.<br />

CHAPTER XIV<br />

LOCATION OF THE EXTRAORDINARY CHAMBERS<br />

Article 43 new<br />

The <strong>Extraordinary</strong> <strong>Chambers</strong> established in <strong>the</strong> trial court and <strong>the</strong> Supreme Court<br />

Chamber shall be located in Phnom Penh.<br />

CHAPTER XV<br />

EXPENSES<br />

Article 44 new<br />

The expenses and salaries <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Extraordinary</strong> <strong>Chambers</strong> shall be as follows:<br />

1. The expenses and salaries <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Cambodian administrative <strong>of</strong>ficials and<br />

staff, <strong>the</strong> Cambodian judges and reserve judges, investigating judges and<br />

reserve investigating judges, and prosecutors and reserve prosecutors shall<br />

be borne by <strong>the</strong> Cambodian nati<strong>on</strong>al budget;<br />

2. The expenses <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> foreign administrative <strong>of</strong>ficials and staff, <strong>the</strong> foreign<br />

judges, Co-investigating judge and Co-prosecutor sent by <strong>the</strong> Secretary-<br />

General <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> United Nati<strong>on</strong>s shall be borne by <strong>the</strong> United Nati<strong>on</strong>s;<br />

3. The defence counsel may receive fees for mounting <strong>the</strong> defence;<br />

4. The <strong>Extraordinary</strong> <strong>Chambers</strong> may receive additi<strong>on</strong>al assistance for <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

expenses from o<strong>the</strong>r voluntary funds c<strong>on</strong>tributed by foreign governments,<br />

internati<strong>on</strong>al instituti<strong>on</strong>s, n<strong>on</strong>-governmental organizati<strong>on</strong>s, and o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

pers<strong>on</strong>s wishing to assist <strong>the</strong> proceedings.<br />

CHAPTER XVI<br />

WORKING LANGUAGES<br />

Article 45 new<br />

The <strong>of</strong>ficial working languages <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Extraordinary</strong> <strong>Chambers</strong> shall be Khmer,<br />

English and French.<br />
