Thank you for your interest in our International M.Sc. Program in Advanced Materials .
We believe that you will find our school a challenging and stimulating environment which will significantly enhance your
future career. We encourage you to apply if you believe you meet our high standards. In order to properly assess your
previous academic achievements and judge your capabilities to succeed in our program, we kindly ask you to complete the
questionnaire below. Please read the questions carefully. If you have any doubts or questions concerning this application
form, please feel free to contact us either by electronic mail, phone, or fax.
After completing the application form, please save it and send it as attachment per E-Mail to:
adv-mat@uni-ulm.de
In addition, send the following per post mail to the Admissions Office of "Advanced Materials" at the address given above
as soon as possible:
1. Signed copy of your online application (if necessary with amended Statement of Objectives and/or curriculum
vitae)
2. Certified photocopies of all official transcripts
3. Two letters of reference from University teachers. Please include these letters, in separately sealed
envelopes, with your application package. Please note: recommendations from company staff and other
persons not affiliated with an university are not valid.
4. Copy of your English test (the TOEFL code for Ulm University is 8407)
Note: A minimum score of 88 for the internet based TOEFL or a minimum score of 6.5 for theIELTS test is needed.
Many German Embassies require that you pass the TOEFL before they will issue your Visa.
You are not required to pass an English exam if English is your native language, or if one of your
previous degrees is from a University where lectures were conducted in English.
Please provide supporting documentation in the latter case
Applications must be postmarked no later than April 30 th 2012.
If you have problems meeting this deadline, please let us know immediately.
Please note that you may apply even if you have not finished your bachelor degree or if you do not yet have proof of
English knowledge. However, if you are admitted into the program, you will have to provide these documents by the time of
enrollment at the latest.

Note that in order to successfully apply to the Advanced Materials program, you need to have a Bachelor of Science
(B.Sc.) or an equivalent degree in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Science, Biology or a closely related field. Degrees
must be completed by the time of enrolment at the latest!
All original documents (mark sheet (transcript of grades) and certificate (diploma)) must be shown to the university at
the time of enrolment.
