and refugees to
the U.S. from Iran, Afghanistan,
Bosnia and
the former Soviet Union
for 15 years. Since
1997, she has done
qualitative research on
disability, pregnancy,
birth and postpartum
experiences of women
with physical disabilities
and the life experiences
of people with
Multiple Chemical Sensitivity/Environmental
Illness. The MCS study
is currently focusing on
women’s work and
menstrual issues.
