137. Karen H<strong>and</strong>orf served as an attorney at the Office <strong>of</strong> the Solicitor, DOL, for more<br />
than thirty years until 2007 when she joined <strong>Cohen</strong> <strong>Milstein</strong>. In her appointed positions <strong>of</strong><br />
Counsel for Decentralized <strong>and</strong> Special Litigation, <strong>and</strong> then as Deputy Associate Solicitor <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Plan Benefits Security Division, she was responsible for the Department’s amicus program;<br />
supervision <strong>of</strong> the Department’s ERISA appellate litigation, district court litigation brought by<br />
regional <strong>of</strong>fices <strong>of</strong> the Solicitor <strong>of</strong> Labor, <strong>and</strong> administrative litigation involving the civil penalty<br />
provisions <strong>of</strong> ERISA; <strong>and</strong> oversight for all ERISA litigation brought by the Secretary <strong>of</strong> Labor<br />
nationwide. She was instrumental in developing the Department’s position in amicus briefs on<br />
many <strong>of</strong> the complex issues surrounding employer stock cases. She is a member <strong>of</strong> the American<br />
College <strong>of</strong> Employee Benefit Counsel <strong>and</strong> a frequent speaker at ERISA conferences.<br />
138. Michelle Yau is an associate at <strong>Cohen</strong> <strong>Milstein</strong> <strong>and</strong> has been involved in this<br />
litigation from its outset. Prior to joining <strong>Cohen</strong> <strong>Milstein</strong>, she was an attorney in the Solicitor’s<br />
Office; she started with the DOL in the Honors Program where she was involved in several<br />
litigation matters, including the Department’s Enron litigation. Quite applicable to <strong>and</strong> valuable<br />
for this litigation, before she attended law school, Ms. Yau worked as a financial analyst at<br />
Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the Financial Institutions Group <strong>of</strong> the Investment Banking Division.<br />
2. Additional Plaintiffs’ Counsel<br />
139. The additional Plaintiffs’ Counsel who have performed work <strong>and</strong> reported time at<br />
Co-Lead Counsel’s request <strong>and</strong> whose fee declarations are submitted herewith contributed<br />
greatly to the successful results achieved.<br />
140. It is also important to note the large number <strong>and</strong> extraordinarily high quality <strong>of</strong><br />
the Defense Counsel opposing Plaintiffs’ <strong>and</strong> their Counsel’s efforts, which bears further witness<br />
to the caliber <strong>of</strong> representation that was necessary to achieve a $75 million settlement.<br />
