This district was <strong>the</strong> start<strong>in</strong>g po<strong>in</strong>t <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> military operation <strong>in</strong> NWFP and parts <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> district have been<br />

heavily affected by <strong>the</strong> fight<strong>in</strong>g. Dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> months <strong>of</strong> <strong>June</strong> and July, <strong>the</strong> <strong>ICRC</strong>, <strong>in</strong> collaboration with <strong>the</strong><br />

PRCS, assisted <strong>the</strong> IDPs <strong>in</strong> camps and outside by provid<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>m with food supplies. It supported<br />

restored, even if<br />

<strong>the</strong>re have been<br />

some fresh outflows <strong>of</strong> civilians from Chargazai flee<strong>in</strong>g fight<strong>in</strong>g. To help cater for <strong>the</strong>m, new relief camps<br />

have been urgently set up <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> middle <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> district capital – Daggar – where <strong>the</strong> <strong>ICRC</strong> assisted over<br />

15, 000 people with food and non-food items this past week.<br />

The non-food items package <strong>in</strong>cludes: laundry soap, body soap, kitchen set, bucket, bas<strong>in</strong>/tubs, tarpaul<strong>in</strong>s, blankets, restricted<br />

cloth kits, jerry-can, hygiene kit (accord<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> needs <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> IDPs).<br />
