An opportunity has arisen to acquire a
1/3rd share in the tug style narrowboat
Resolute.
Resolute was built in 2000 by Waterways
Craft Guild Master Boat builder Graham
Edgson of Norton Canes Boatbuilders and
fitted out by Glynn Walker of GW Boats,
Norton Canes. Resolute is currently used
as a demonstrator by Norton Canes.
Resolute is a very traditional boat,
which was inspired by the flowing lines
of Yarwoods-built Fellows Morton and
Clayton Joshers.
Resolute has an 8ft long tug deck, the
underside of which is used as a storage
area and also has a 4’6” wide bed, which
pulls out into the saloon area. The main
access into the boat is from both port
and starboard side hatches that enter
into the galley area. There are units
either side of the galley, which has a gas
4 ring hob, oven and grill and a 230v
fridge. The bathroom has a Thetford
cassette toilet with spare cassette, a
ceramic basin is set into a cupboard unit
and a square shower tray, tiled unit and
a Perspex screen.
The engine room houses a magnificent
restored Kelvin J3 engine, which has
been converted to start on diesel,
starboard and port side doors open
into the engine room. Resolute has a
traditionally decorated back cabin, which
was decorated by Waterways Craft Guild
Master Dave Moore and is adorned with
brassware and hanging plates. The
external decoration was also completed
by Dave Moore.
