Information Systems HP DS/3000 price changes Jay Kidd/IND GENERAL Effective on the January 1, 1986 Corporate Price List, the prices of DSl3000 (PIN 32185) and some of the DSl3000 Link products have been changed to achieve the following objectives: To increase the price competitiveness of networking on the HP 3000 Series 37 To make the ratio of the "A" copy prices to the "R" copy prices consistent with the other networking products. Series 37 prices lowered The cost of connecting an HP 3000 Series 37 to another HP 3000 using DSl3000 has been lowered 23 percent, from $6,000 US list to $4,600. Similarly, the cost of the networking needed to add an additional Series 37 to the network has dropped by 11 percent, so the net result is more competitiveness for those multi-Series 37 deals. Series 39 to 68 prices adjusted In conjunction with the price decreases for DSl3000 on the Series 37, the prices for DS on the other HP 3000s have been adjusted to conform to the new 70 percent "R" copy price. The new AIR ratios have yielded a reduced price for the first copy of DSl3000 and a slight increase in subse- quent copies.
