The various railway loans raised in 1867 and<br />

1870 were <strong>the</strong> subject <strong>of</strong> serious fraud - little <strong>of</strong><br />

projects in Honduras, and perhaps <strong>the</strong> whole<br />

launch <strong>was</strong> a fraud. The country defaulted in<br />

1872. The line <strong>was</strong> finally completed in 1897<br />

fairly common, esp. <strong>the</strong> ones from <strong>the</strong> 1950s,<br />
