This award sets out to find a young woman who is making a<br />
significant impact in an organisation. The panel were looking<br />
for a woman whose contribution thus far makes her 'the one to watch' because of what she is doing to shape<br />
her organisation, not just in terms of financial success but as an example to others.<br />
Asian Investor Investment Performance Awards 2009<br />
Winner: Asset manager of the year – alternative investments<br />
Started in 2001 to celebrate the excellence in investment performance by the fund<br />
managers in Asia Pacific, these <strong>awards</strong> are awarded on a quantitative and qualitative<br />
basis. First looking at statistics gathered from Mercer, Watson Wyatt and Lipper, Asian<br />
Investor then invites the top three performers to pitch for the <strong>awards</strong> they’ve been<br />
shortlisted for. The judging panel (consisting of Asian Investor’s editorial team) then<br />
picks a winner who best argues their case as to why they deserve to be awarded.<br />

Global Pensions Awards 2009<br />
Winner: Commodities Manager of the Year 2009<br />
Given the current market uncertainty and in recognition of the fact<br />
that manager skill is a highly valued commodity, Global Pensions<br />
Magazine invited pension funds from around the world to nominate excellent service providers for each of the<br />
categories in the Global Pensions Awards 2009. As in previous years, only pension funds were eligible to<br />
nominate for the various <strong>awards</strong>. Once nominations were accepted, the shortlist was put to a panel of judges<br />
consisting of senior names and faces from the <strong>global</strong> pensions industry, who decided on the winners. <strong>Goldman</strong><br />
<strong>Sachs</strong> Asset Management was awarded ‘Commodities Manager of the Year 2009.<br />
