Goldman Sachs Asset Management Global Awards Listing Lipper Fund Awards Italy/Netherlands/Switzerland 2007 Winner: Goldman Sachs Global Financial Services: Equity Sector Banksand Other Financials over 5 Years Lipper has recognised the GS Global Financial Services Fund has delivered consistently strong risk-adjusted performance relative to its peers over five years. The awards were calculated by examining relative average performance over 36, 60 and 120 months. The highest Lipper Leader for consistent return value within each eligible classification determines the fund classification over three, five or ten years. Standard & Poor's Fund Awards 2007 Austria/Italy/Switzerland Winner: Goldman Sachs Global Financial Services Fund – best fund in the Finance Sector over 5 years Standard & Poor’s developed its Relative Risk Adjusted (RRA) ratio. This ratio identifies funds that achieve not only superior performance compared with a benchmark of the fund’s peers, but also consistency of that outperformance. In order for this comparison to be valid, a fund’s peer group or sector is tightly defined to facilitate a like for like comparison. The fund was also ranked 2nd in its sector in France over 5 years. Financial News Awards for Excellence in Institutional Client Service 2007 Winner: RFP Team of the Year Financial News recognises that client relationship departments can make or break asset management firms. These awards therefore aim to set the industry benchmark for the vital role played by client relations teams in winning and retaining mandates. They will also be analysing the positioning of teams, with an eye to the future development of the institutional asset management industry. Goldman Sachs Asset Management Global Awards Listing Professional Pensions – UK Pensions Awards 2007 The awards aim to recognise the providers that offer the highest level of service to occupationalpension schemes and their members. Nominees are judged against set criteria – innovation, communication, performance and service standards – and also asked to submit a general overview. The submissions are considered by a panel of judges made up of professionals from across the occupational pensions industry. GSAM was short-listed for : Investment Manager of the Year UK Fixed Income Manager of the Year Hedge Fund Manager of the Year Global Pensions Awards 2007 Global Pensions conducted a survey of over 1,000 pension funds around the world and asked each one to nominate a provider for each category. The shortlist was drawn up from the results of this survey and Global Pensions then asked the nominees to submit a 750-word submission as to why they thought they should win the award. This was then passed to an international panel of independent judges. GSAM was short-listed for : Commodities Manager of the Year Global Investor Magazine – Investment Excellence Awards 2007 2007 Investment consultants and leading pension funds from around the globe were invited to nominate asset management firms in each category. Following further research by Global Investor, the nominations were condensed into a shortlist of three firms for each category. The firms who reach the shortlist have achieved not only strong performance in a particular asset class during 2005, but also boast a clear investment process and philosophy, a stable investment team and strong business management.
