In 1805, Madame Clicquot, a young widow of 27 years, took over the reins of the House founded in Reims in 1772
and became one of the first business women in history. Audacious and visionary, she made her champagne known
to the world. From the beginning, the maison’s vineyards were among the best crus in Champagne. Philippe Clicquot,
upon founding the house, owned some well located vineyards. With her remarkable intuition, Madame Clicquot purchased
plots of land now classified as ‘Grand Cru’. The House then gradually acquired plots of land with the best crus
giving strength to what is today a winery of exception.
Prosecco continues to be an everyday celebration choice - Scavi and Ray with it’s brilliant packaging is a stylish
Argentina
José Alberto and Sebastián Zuccardi
Argentina is proving to wine lovers that all the current focus is well deserved; not only due to the increasing
numbers of awards harvested every year during various international contests but more importantly it is the
booming consumption rate which reflects best the consumer demand!
Malbec is clearly the main drive behind that success where it is the fastest growing varietal in the US. But let’s not
forget that Argentina’s diversity is supported by the local varietals (Torrontes, Bonarda) as well as the blooming
of Sauvignon Blanc from the cool Salta region and the confirmation in high quality Tempranillo and Cabernet
Sauvignon.
Whilst Argentina is also our fastest growing country, it is too often found at the end of restaurants wine lists with
only a couple of products or even joined with Chilean wines under a “South American” section, what a mistake!
This year our objective is to help you discover Argentina’s diversity and to do so we added no less than 21 new
products on this years portfolio. This new range goes from a surprising blend of Torrontes & Pinot Grigio from
Fuzion “Alta”, to the must have BBQ (or should we say Asado) wine Santa Julia “Reserva” Malbec, all the way to that
special sip of stunning vineyard designated wines from Viña Cobos or Achaval Ferrer that will be found on both
our fine wine list and portfolio.

A true family company founded in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi. In those times, he began planting vines in Maipú (a province of Mendoza),
experimenting with an irrigation system of his own creation based on a method used in California. Forty five years after the
starting point of this path, there are three generations joined by a passion for wine. In September 2007, the prestigious magazine
DECANTER acknowledged José Alberto and Sebastián Zuccardi as being among the five most influential personalities of Argentine
Santa Julia is a clear example of the combination of the quality and diversity of Mendocinian soils, resulting in modern wines.
Among its diverse range of grape varieties we find the international classics as well as the locals, such as Torrontes and Tannat. This
year we have extended the varietal range with some screw cap 1/2 bottles and have also introduced the “Reserva” range, a great
value selection of wine - for example the Cabernet was recently voted in the top 6 Best Cabernet Sauvignons from Argentina. The
last addition is the Magna, a rich, powerful wine made from a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, definitely something
to try.
In the late 1950s, Moët & Chandon, sent Renaud Poirier, its Oenology Director, to Latin America to research the region’s potential
for world-class wine production. After travelling around the region, Poirier visited Luján de Cuyo, in Mendoza. Highly impressed by
the local conditions for winemaking and the presence of excellent high elevation vineyards, Poirier and Moët & Chandon decided
to set up its first ever vineyards outside France. After decades of experiencing with sparkling wines production, in 1999, Moët Hennessy
Wine Estates and Bodegas Chandon Argentina opened Terrazas de los Andes Winery - a varietal still-wines initiative based
on its emblematic high-elevation vineyards, fed by the Andes meltwater. The core concept since it began has been matching each
variety to a specific altitude which governs ripening sequence and thus quality.
CLOS DE LOS SIETE
Tunuyan
The idea was simple. Globetrotting consultant Michel Rolland persuaded French investors to join him in an ambitious project.
Namely, to plant 2,100 acres of virgin land in the high-altitude Vista Flores area of Uco, split the property up into seven parts and
allow each partner to make their own wines while contributing 80% of their production to one joint wine; Clos de los Siete. The
result is a ripe, spicy style red which, whilst the blend may change slightly year to year, is predominantly (80%) Malbec, with Cabernet
Sauvignon and Merlot.
Wine has never tasted so good from Australia. The Australian wine industry has now evolved
into a dynamic quality focused supplier of some of the World’s finest wines especially when
of the fact that our portfolio is littered with such wines. Torbreck, Petaluma, de Bortoli, Turkey
Chile
Marcelo Papa – winemaker of Concha Y Toro
With over four centuries of vine growing history under their belt and considering that some wineries have been
operating for two centuries, we could easily open endless debates as if Chile should still be labelled as a new comer
in the wine industry or not. In planet Earth lifetime, it is a fact that Chilean geology is young and continuously rejuvenating;
the Andes Mountains are still raising a few centimetres per year which created a multitude of valleys with
individual terroirs and micro climates over the last two or three millions of years.
In the last decade or so Chile has really put their hands on identifying these special sites; the one where the Pacific
Ocean cool breeze will slowly extend the ripeness process of the Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc while actually it
might be less beneficial to Cabernet Sauvignon or Carmenère; the one where the soil structure of a “block” within
Maipo will be identified as more suited to Syrah while previously Cabernet Sauvignon was planted regardless... This
is why this year we have added an astonishing selection of single vineyards wines: Gravas del Maipo, Carmin del
Peumo, Kai, Terrunyo Block 27 as well as a seven vintage vertical of Don Melchor on our fine wine list.
We believe that Chile’s wine image needs to be “premiumised”, mirroring what happened in Australia, South Africa
or US in the last decade, but we cannot lose focus on the foundation of the Chilean wine industry and this is why
we also added an extra eight references under 70dhs. So yes, I guess that there is plenty on going in Chile…

Don Melchor, founder of Concha y Toro, created the Wine Legend when, to keep thieves away from his private reserve he spread
the rumour that the devil lived in that cellar. Afraid of meeting the devil, strangers soon stopped visiting and bottles were never
Today, you can practically find a bottle of Casillero del Diablo anywhere you travel in the world, and this success is certainly due to
the capacity in improving quality while growing it’s production. A clear example of this is reflected in the recent award of “Finest
China
There is archaeological evidence that the Chinese were making wine around 212 B.C. While
there have been commercial wineries in the country since the end of the 19th Century, it
has only been in the last 20 years or so that the production has really evolved into a serious
industry and even more recently that an emphasis has been placed on producing quality
rather than quantity. In terms of vine plantings, China is now the 5th largest in the world,
Bordeaux
Philippine Mathilde Camille de Beaumarchais (de Rothschild)
When we all believed that Bordeaux had reached the highest crest in terms of quality and price, the 2010
vintage arrives and all the debates about Bordeaux futures are suddenly re-opened. But quietly, while
the press is busy writing conflicting columns, one of the best vintages since 1982 has been bottled and
released. Yes, the most acclaimed 2009 has made its way to our market and you can now enjoy the pleasure
of sipping or keeping it, try the Dourthe N1 Rouge or the Bordeaux from Jean Pierre Moueix, great wines.
This year, as for last year, we have been focusing on adding good value wines, typical of the appellation
that you can take with confidence. Some might seem unknown but they actually have enriched pedigree,
such as Château Grand-Village which is vinified within the “chai” of Château Lafleur, or the Château Poitevin
which received a higher Parker rating (88) than our selling price (75dhs); a rare fact in today’s Bordeaux.

Mouton Rothschild, a First Growth, and its distinguished lieutenants, Château Clerc Milon and Château d’Armailhac – or branded
Burgundy
Véronique Drouhin, Domaine Joseph Drouhin
The 175km long Burgundy region covers over 300 villages which are all dedicated to producing
high quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, along with Gamay, the main grape of the Beaujolais area.
Often described as being the home of the best examples of these varieties on the planet, the
multitude of climates, exposures and soil structures makes it one of the most segmented wine
regions in the world and the place where the French concept of “Terroir” can be most visible in the
resulting wines.
This micro concept is reflected in the human size of the land exploited, in average a producer
owns not much more than 7ha of land. With this myriad of soils, slopes, villages, climates and laws,
choosing the right producer with a quality track record is vital. All of the family-owned and run
domaines and producers that we work with show the essence of the region in their wines and truly
represent quality and value.
CHABLIS
Whilst Chablis is geographically part of Burgundy, wines from the region are well known for having a specific individuality. This is
typically reflected within a sentence often used by consumers when ordering wine: “I don’t like Chardonnay… but I like Chablis…”.
Mineral, vivacious, crisp… Chablis wines owe their character to the climate and soil. The short hour and a half drive north of Beaune
reveals a cooler climate, but what really stands out in Chablis is the soil structure, walking in vineyards is like walking in a two
hundred millions year old aquaculture, it’s these oyster fossils which brings that well sought after and differentiating minerality.
Chablis
During the 1960’s, at a time when the Chablis vineyards were all but abandoned, Robert Drouhin believed in the potential of this
wine region and very early, he selected the best vineyards in the historical and geological heart of Chablis. Since the end of the
1980’s, under the impetus of Philippe Drouhin, the Domaine Drouhin Vaudon has embraced biological and biodynamic cultivation.
As of today, the Domaine Drouhin Vaudon is the largest estate in Chablis entirely given over to this kind of cultivation.
Loire
Pascal Jolivet
While cruising along the longest river of France, you will find your path crossing some of the
prettiest Châteaux of Europe and you will also pass by a multitude of world leading wine regions.
Birth place of the Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Muscadet and Cabernet Franc... the
Garden of France, as it is also known, is home of some of the greatest single varietal wines.
From the chalky, flinty and limestone hills of Sancerre, by the clayish soil of Vouvray to the
granitic soil of Muscadet that drives the choice of varietals, we should also not forget the
multitude of micro-climates generated by the twist and turn of the Loire river. To reflect that
principle we have added few examples of Terroir driven wine from Sancerre and Savennieres
by adding the legendary Nicolas Joly. Also, of interest is the addition of the good value Domaine
Montagu from the Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé district.
PASCAL JOLIVET
The House of Pascal Jolivet is one of the youngest and most dynamic in the Loire Valley. Founded in 1987, specialising in the wines
of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, Pascal has very quickly gained a leading position with the Michelin starred restaurants in France.
Pascal is a strong believer in letting nature make the wine and seeks to tame the more dynamic qualities of the Sauvignon Blanc.
The winery has twice won the award “ Best Winery of the Year” by Wine & Spirits Magazine and the Sancerre Blanc Pascal Jolivet has
been selected twice in the “Top 100 Wines of the Year “ by Wine Spectator magazine.
CHÉREAU CARRÉ
We sometimes forget the greatness of a good Muscadet sur Lie, produced on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, this is defenitly the
natural match for fresh oysters, cold seafood platters, and simply as aperitif… When it comes to winemaking, Bernard Chereau
leaves no room for uncertainty. He makes his wines with a calmness driven by the 600 years of his family wine history.
NICOLAS JOLY
www.coulee-de-serrant.com
Nicolas Joly is a mystical figure. An ex-financial banker in the late 70’s he took over his family winery. From there he started to earn
an “out of the box” image driven by his belief in Biodynamic culture. In the early 80’s this was considered as not much more than
ageing Hippies trying their luck at winemaking. Actually 30 years later, Nicolas Joly wines and books turned him into an emblematic
figure who inspired hundreds of wineries around the world to turn their back on chemical pesticides, fungicides, fertilizers and
to focus more on the moon phases. Whoever is nature conscient in today’s wine industry will know the quality of Nicolas’s words
and wines.
Donatus Prinz von Hessen
Often overlooked and poorly represented on Dubai’s wine lists, German wines are long
overdue a revival here. During the past decade, the quality of Germany’s best Rieslings has
taken a great leap forwards. As the wines have improved, so Germany’s reputation as a fine
wine producer has been restored to the position it enjoyed in the 19th and 20th Centuries,
when its wines commanded prices comparable to those of Bordeaux and Burgundy. Riesling
is the star here, in myriad guises, from bone dry examples with zippy fresh acidity to the
richer, late picked styles that offer exotic flavours balanced by a fine mineral edge.

ITALY
Italy is one of the oldest wine producing countries in the World and still remains one of the very
best. The wines have an unique combination of individual wine style from a diversity of climates
made from the widest range of indigenous grape varieties found anywhere in the world. This really
can be described as the A-Z of wine.
The quality of Italian wine can rival the very best wines in the World and at MMI we believe we have
the best selection in the Middle East. But don’t just take our word for it. The Gambero Rosso, Italy’s
most distinguished wine guide, awards a ‘Tre Bicchieri’ (three glasses) for what they believe are
the best Italian wines produced each year. Over the years the wineries in our Italian portfolio have
amassed a total of 343 awards – compared to 247 from our competitors list!!
Awards alone though don’t tell the whole story – what we have also worked on bringing you is great
value for money wines that make great house wines or by the glass offerings – be sure to try the
new selections from Allegrini, Corte Giara, Canti and Caldora to see what we mean.

COSSETTI
Piedmont
www.cossetti.it
The San Colombano farm is at the heart of the attention and care that the Cossetti family gives to the quality of its grapes. The
vineyards are located in Castelnuovo Belbo. They are more than 30 years old on average, with low production yields that result in
excellent grape characteristics.
The predominant variety is the Barbera, with smaller vineyards of Cortese and Dolcetto. Exposure ranges from south to southeast,
with clayey terrain of medium texture and some iron and magnesium content.
The area has been known historically as one of the most ideal areas to produce the best Barbera d’Asti, in the highly esteemed
Nizza sub-area that represents the pinnacle of quality of this wine, through strict production regulations that call for long ageing
in barrels and bottles after careful selection of harvest.
Seventy years ago, the family’s skills were transferred to Friuli by the eldest son of the fourth generation, Livio, whose great privilege
RUFFINO
Tuscany
www.ruffino.com
We are very fortunate at MMI to have 3 well established Tuscan houses and at the core of these is Ruffino. Ruffino were the original
creators of the ‘Chianti straw-flask’ that was popular in the late 1980’s and 1990’s. Modern day Ruffino have got rid of the straw casing
but continue to make a style of wine that customers immediately recognize as classic Chianti. At MMI, we purchase the majority
of the wines from the Ruffino range so that you can choose a Chianti to suit your price requirements. Each of the Ruffino Chianti’s
(Classic Chianti, Aziano, Riserva Ducale, Riserva Ducale Oro) has foundation characteristics of bright red fruit, firm tannins, and soft
cherry that are must have Chianti notes. As you go up the range in terms of price, the wines take on more complex oak characteristics
and richer palate depth, as one would expect.
Aside from the reds, Ruffino make some great white wines. Try the Galestro Griffe when looking for a easy, simple, clean style of
wines that are progressive and innovative.
Being named ‘Wine & Spirits Magazine’s Winery of the Year 2009’ was no surprise for this organization who are pushing the boundaries
of classic Tuscan wine making without losing the charm and finesse. The result is simply stunning wines that contain an
amazing depth in choice depending of whether they fall under DOCG appellation of Chianti (Castello di Fonterutoli) or from the
Maremma vineyards (Belguardo) under IGT classification. Regardless of the sourcing area, the wineries ability to find the right relationship
Lebanon
The Ghosn Brothers from Massaya with the Bruniers
Perhaps it should be left to the Romans as to the importance of Lebanon as a wine producing
country. After all it was the Romans that took the vine and cultivated into the regions
that we have come to love in Europe and ultimately throughout the world. The Romans
only ever built one temple to their God of Wine - Bacchus - and this temple sits proudly in
the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. This is not the New World or the Old, Lebanon deserves its
own classification as to where it sits in the World order of wine; this is the Ancient world !
NewZealand
The Peabody Family - owners of Craggy Range
So many aspects of New Zealand get continuously praised: the worlds best rugby team, awe inspiring
landscapes attracting top film producers, great ski destination, yummy sheep that get counted by the
thousands, good wines, warm hearted people… only the weather gets somehow neglected, a bit too
cool, a bit too wet… But what better condition can you ask to grow vines!
In a world where consciousness is driven by carbon footprint, it is only a matter of years before the
world seriously considers its water footprint. In that point New Zealand is as green as its landscape, the
vines grow from the natural water resources and the free falling rain unlike so many new world countries,
there is no need for irrigation. New Zealand wines are no block busters made from roasting grapes
under a baking sun; the cool climate makes them elegant with delicate balance, perfectly shown by
Craggy Range, Wither Hills, the newly added Metis Esprit Wine and also Neudorf.
But a bit of spark is always appreciated, that’s why you will find that Lindauer has been added with a
must try Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc which will most probably bring the infamous “spritzer” cocktail to
an early retirement.
LINDAUER
www.lindauer.co.nz
Upon its launch in 1981, Lindauer became the first commercially available méthode traditionnelle in New Zealand. In the quarter
century since then, Lindauer has become the country’s most popular single wine brand. Lindauer is made from traditional champagne
CRAGGY RANGE
Te Muna, Kidnapers Bay, Te Kahu, Gimblett Gravels… Wines from Craggy Range are not all about the varietal, they have a sense of
place, a personality, an origin: they are all single vineyard. Co-founder Steve Smith (MW & winemaker) has been spend his early
days learning winemaking techniques in Burgundy, the pinnacle of terroir and single vineyard. Once back to New Zealand he simply
kept that concept and applied it to the Martinborough or the Gimblett Gravel. Very often we hear that New Zealand doesn’t
produce good red wine other than Pinot Noir, well, if you want to change that opinion taste a bottle of Te Kahu, Sophia or even the
highly allocated Le Sol… Your mind will be changed for ever.
METIS - ESPRIT WINES
We’re pleased to add to the portfolio the results of a Franco-Kiwi collaboration by our Loire specialist Pascal Jolivet. Seeds for the
joint venture were sown late in 2005 when Jolivet first sampled Trinity Hill’s Hawkes Bay Sauvignon at the Bleeding Heart Restaurant,
owned by Trinity Hill partners Robert and Robyn Wilson. “It was so different from a Marlborough Sauvignon, so much more
European in style that I immediately decided to visit Hawkes Bay with the Wilsons. I was very impressed with the soil and with the
winery. We set up a joint venture which we have called Esprit Wines Limited, to capture the spirit of both countries” says Pascal.
South Africa
Razvan Macici & Tariro Masayiti - winemakers of Nederburg
South African wines have been improving in leaps and bounds in recent years with the
focus on quality rather than quantity. There are wines to suit all tastes whether the consumer
is looking for an easy-drinking style that has an abundance of vibrant fruits or a
sophisticated wine with restrained and complex notes that can put ‘classic’ wines from
the Old World to shame. One thing is clear - no matter what style you choose, the wines
offer exception value for money.

The Torres Family
Today, Spain is a vibrant wine nation. It has the largest vineyard area in the world, 97% of
which is used for wine. Its 73 Denominacion de Origen (DO) zones produce red, rose and
white still wines, as well as sparkling Cava. There are Atlantic and Mediterranean influences,
and microclimates that stretch from the heights of volcanic mountains to sea level. So what’s
new this year? The Penelope Sanchez Grenache – Syrah from Axial Vinos is a lovely juicy red,
perfect for by the glass; Rueda is one of the regions in Spain famous for its great white wines,
we have always carried the superstar by Belondrade y Lurton and have now also added a
great entry-level example as the Esperanza Verdejo Viura is a real crowd pleaser.

the Celeste ( Ribera del Duero), Salmos ( Priorat) and Ibericos(Rioja) wines, he is now executive president of Torres Chile. Not an
Above the cellars are the winemaking, bottling, and shipping facilities, conserved to this day. At Cune, the winemaking process
crispness and a lively colour. Riscal Reservas spend around two years in American-oak casks, producing a wine which corresponds
MAS LA MOLA
The seven hectare Mas La Mola estate has been in the Ferrando family for 150 years. Today, however, the viticulture, winemaking
and blending are carried out by Jordi Masdeu (a young Spaniard who spent time selling wine in London) and Alessandro Marchesan,
the Group Buyer for Zuma International. The duo’s approach to making wine is artisanal, with a diminutive winery tucked away
in the streets of Poboleda, in the north of the region. The 35 year old Macabeo vines are planted on low yielding gravel soils next
to a river (which provides vital irrigation to the root system during the hot summers), while the parcels of old Garnacha, Cariñena
and Garnacha Blanca vines are planted on the steep Llicorella slate slopes at 350-450m above sea level.
PORT
There are two distinct categories of Port; ruby and tawny. Ruby refers to the fruity style of port, aged for a relatively short time in
larger oak vats and bottled while there is still lots of dark fruit. Tawny ports are aged for much longer, typically in 600 litre barrels
known as pipes, and develop a complex cedary, nutty, more raisiny character, with a lighter, orange-brown colour. Of the ruby
styles, the best-quality wines are the vintage ports, made only in the best years, and bottled after just two years. Late Bottled vintage
(LBV) ports were first introduced in the 1960s and offer some of the qualities of vintage port at much lower prices. These are
bottle after years in wood and do not require decanting.
GRAHAM’S
www.grahams-port.com
In over two hundred years of production only 2 families have made Graham’s Port. Considered one of the finest Ports available,
Graham’s Port offer consistency and quality unrivalled by any other house. Their wine are concentrated and powerful with fine
integrated alcohol. The Vintage can esily last 50 years if cellared correct, the Late Bottled Vintage on the other hand is a wine to be
drunk young and does not benefit from extended ageing. Both are classic.
