Baba ascended the mimbar (Pulpit in a mosque to deliver sermons to
the congregation) saying: “My dear Emir, you have disclosed my secret”
and then he interpreted the Surâ Al-Fatiha (The first chapter of Qur’ân
al-Kerim) in seven manners. Leaving his son Yusuf Hakiki in Aksaray
he went to the Hajj (the Pilgrimage to Mecca), together with his other
son Halil Taybi and his student Hacı Bayram-ı Walî. On his way back
from Hajj, Somuncu Baba appointed Hacı Bayram-ı Walî to Ankara and
settled in the town of Darende in Malatya. He deceased in 815 of the
Hegira (1412 A.D.). A great number of scholars and educated people
were issued from the blessed generation of Sheikh Hamid-î Walî. His
private apartment and cell of recluse have been preserved with the
same atmosphere to this day by his descendants who are still active
today.
