Education sessions that provide a variety of opportunities <strong>for</strong> learning, such as self-learning<br />

packages (<strong>for</strong> reading prior to the training session), case studies, and posters. In particular,<br />

the pilot site found that opportunities <strong>for</strong> simulated foot assessments among participants<br />

were very helpful in applying theory into practice.<br />

In addition to the tips mentioned above, the RNAO has published implementation resources<br />

that are available on the website. A Toolkit <strong>for</strong> implementing practice guidelines can be<br />

helpful, if used appropriately. A brief description of this Toolkit can be found in Appendix M.<br />

It is available <strong>for</strong> free download at www.rnao.org/bestpractices. Implementation resources<br />

developed by the pilot sites in Sudbury, Ontario are also available on the website to assist<br />

individuals and organizations implement this best practice guideline. These resources are<br />

specific to these organizations, and have been made available as examples of local adaptation<br />

<strong>for</strong> implementation of the recommendations.
